so Jesus died for our sins? HMM...
so Jesus died for our sins?
why would Jesus have his own son die so that God could forgive people for sinning? it makes absolutely ZERO fucking sense. why not just forgive people for their sins. God made us, he made us not even close to perfect. so why wouldn't he just accept that and forgive us because of this? Sending Jesus to die for us makes no sense at all.

it just doesnt make sense that God would have his own son killed just so that he (God)could forgive the humans that he created (inperfectly) for their sins.

Even if it's hard to believe the whole dying for our sins thing, he was a good guy. And he in fact did die trying to be a good person. I think Christians are far too pushy with their approach with witnessing and all, constantly putting people on the spot about intimate information such as their religioius affiliation. But whether you think he died so we can be forgiven or not, you have to admit he taught a positive message. What the people did with that message was less than positive, but the original teachings were much more pure than the muddy translations the modern Christians use.

My bible says God did this ultimate sacrifice to save the world from our sins. Even Jesus asked his Father why he would forsake him so it didnt make sense to him either, at least in the beginning. But it did happen and his blood washed away our sins, at least thats what I learned in church.
Jesus suffered terribly at the hands of his attackers, he did this for us. |

but whats the point of God sending his own son down to die so the God could forgive us? why not just forgive us and not have his son die?

maybe he didn't like the idea of a religion based on him so he tried to put a stop to it and it backfired?
or, maybe jesus owed him money and wouldn't pay up |

I heard one person explain it one time. It's like he offered himself up as the first person to die in this new pursuit of human, which I think he knew had to happen because there's no way to show the ugliness of humanity than to have humanity kill someone who was not only innocent, but killed because he was taking power away from the jewish leaders. Jesus was gaining followers and wasn't even going to be killed, but the Rabbis insisted on it, or whatever they were if they were Rabbis.
I saw this on the Catholic Channel. Seems reasonable. |

Well this is how it works out. The very first followers of the Hebrew God were required to make specific sacrifices of blood, grain, incense, etc. to atone for their sins. The animals they chose had to be pure to show that the people had obedience to God and resentment for their wrongs.. Profits as early as 300 B.C. began talking of a messiah and made striking predictions about the death of Christ. Jesus was born free of sin and lived his entire life free of sin and therefore served as the ultimate sacrifice for humankind if we can humble ourselves enough to admit it. That is a very basic version of what I believe to be true, take it or leave it...
