Hallucinations before Bed?

This might sound really weird. Though sometimes right before bed(with or without any drug), I'll do this.

-I'll close my eyes, and kind of aim my eyeballs upward a little bit into my head
-Try clearing my head,
-I get this physical swimmy feeling in my head like I ate some blue lotus. It culminates like behind that weird thing in your throat(dangly pink thinger) but further back and into my brain. Then it kind of rushes around and I can set a focus on where to put it on my brain like a cursor).

After the first time this happened I can just think about what it feels like and it happens but only if I'm in bed and at night.

I start seeing some pretty dull colors(pink and green and blue) swirl around inside my head(not on my eyelids). They kind of angle from both my eyes and go into one place. Then things get fuzzy, wide and sparkly like seeing static. Then things tend to get dreamy but I swear I'm still awake.

Sometimes it feels like I am doing something like I am skateboarding or I'm holding something, but then I realize I'm not and I "wake up" and it's generally startling.

It feels really good and I often have really creative/note-worthy ideas but I can never seem to pull myself out of it to write them down before rolling to my other side and passing out.

I'm a really active sleeper and have problems getting to bed(posting at 2:30am). When I was a kid I used to punch, run, roll, talk, and get into really weird sitting positions in my sleep. Sometimes I do wake up on my back with my knees folded like I was kneeling but on my back(if that makes sense at all). I'm not as active anymore as I was when I was a kid but it still happens.

I guess I was wondering if anyone else has ever had anything like this?

^^^That's happened to me too.

Hypnagogic Hallucinations, hmm. That sounds like the culprit, but that web-site just makes it sound so negative. It really doesn't bother me I think it's kinda neat thats why i like trying to trigger it haha. Than again my earth has been shattered quite a few times with a smile on my face for at least most the ride. Thanks for the link.

I fall into a lot of the categories for the causes of this -

there's also things called hypnopompic hallucinations witch are similar but while awake.

the hallucinations are actually one of the first signs you're falling asleep. It's the first step in actually creating a lucid dream while still conscious. Sometimes I can do it when I first fall asleep, but I usually fall asleep before I get a chance to even attempt it when I get up after sleeping for awhile.

now i know i know nothin but that sounds like you're activating your third eye. thats the first thought i had when you said you aim your eyes upward.

brush it off as merely hallucinations and chemicals being released... or something more. cause DMT is released from your... oh quiet!... there is no third eye.

G'night, Mydriasis.

edit: i decided to smoke and chill then sleep. i hadn't once day... but after posting felt like good time to smoke.

and also i think only you can figure this out, and it'll be great so you can relax.

other people here have to know something besides oh you just had a hallucination or whatever ya know man. hahaha
