LED or HPS?

So Ive done a few trial runs (2 harvests) with Fluorescent lightinging (CFL and tubes) and while they are fine for veg I know for flowering if I had better lighting my already far and away better than any commercial buds will be that much better (bigger with a much greater yield) with an HPS or some type of red LED lights. I figured it was better to experiment cheaply with the Fluors before buying a bunch of expensive lighting and since both my harvests went better than expected I'm ready to buy most likely a 400 watt HPS but have been doing research on LED's also.

I have found that LED's panels (not UFO) are far cheaper and alot less heat than an HPS but most people I have talked to say they leave you wanting during flowering compared to an HPS even though alot of the sellers of the LED panels say their lights are equal to or better than a 400 watt HPS at a quarter of the cost and no need for the ventelation that you run into with HPS lighting due to the heat of the ballast and bulb.

Myself I'm leaning towards the HPS because everyone I've talked to that uses one is more than happy with the results but with the LED panels it's about half and half with good results or not so good results during the flowering so I figured I would see what some of you around here think, any helpful tips or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

PEACE,
Forest

even the 250 watt hps I used were far better @ both veg and flower than led or wide spectrum floros I've used.

no comparison really.

Thanks for your opinions on the matter I'm going to get a 400 watt hps and I'm sure I'll be happy with the results.

I know you can get a tan from hps. I don't think it's too good for skin.

Always wear shades under hps .
