Why does weed make heart rate go up?

Its insane how fast my heart beats sometimes after a couple bowls.

I think it's the rush stimulating the central nervous system. But I thought weed was supposed to slow your heart rate, especially after a while.

The heart will have to work faster to obtain the necessary oxygen, which is in poor supply due to the effects of the carbon monoxide from the smoke and this will therefore lead to stress on the heart, which could cause angina or a sudden heart attack.

No kidding. I'm almost always sitting down when I smoke. I never thought about that before.

My heart sometimes races too. But guys, cannabis lowers blood pressure. Do you notice how when your heart races its kind of a light beat beat beat rather than a walloping BEAT BEAT BEAT?

i noticed that the hash lowers my blood pressure,
two times now, ive almost passed out.
got totaly numb, and my sight went black, could not move and had to lie down.
my friend found me on the kitchenfloor :S

(but i had taken som truxal too, and i think that also lowers the blood pressure)
