I tried a Volcano for the first time and all I can say is KAPOW!! Now it was set at #7 and the herb turned brown but I got a high just like toking a joint. My vaporizer (INAVAP) does not turn the herb brown. I am sucking hot air over the herb. I don't get the head that the Volcano gave me. Now my questions:
1) Does the herb turning brown release the tar and shit I'm trying to avoid??
2) I used dank stuff. How would basic herb work in the Volcano??
3) The F cking price! WOW! The Silver Surfer gets rave reviews and is half the price of the Volcano. Why is the guy I see in a video turning the whip around when he puts it up to the Silver Surfer??
Thanks in advance for any info. Wish I'd have never tried it because now my $100 vaporizer just doesn't measure up.

I've only used a Volcano, and always at 7, and wow, always super high. As for the brownness of the herb, that's as it should be. Black is what you want to avoid, that's where you've combusted rather than vaporized, and gotten the tar. I always use dank stuff, I don't know how it would work with basic.

As for having to hide your habit, vaporizing is the best. Vapor dissipates quickly. Hide the volcano in the back of your closet or something! Only takes 3 minutes to warm up.

Thanks mother, although I think I did so by clicking on the new thanks button. I have not been on this board for a few years. I like the changes. Great marijuana site!! Glad to find out the brown is not releasing the tar and shit. So so tempted to buy the volcano.

I have the SS and think I would prefer a whip anyway. Thick vapor hits are sick!. And your weed SHOUD turn brown and brown only. This indicates all the good has been extracted. Any darker than "brown", say, even close to being on the black side, and you defeated the purpose (plus it tastes gross when otherwise it should taste insanely good). After you are done vaping you should be able to pick up the vaporized weed and play with it without getting your hands stinky or having it de-solve as ash would. It's a way dif experience - I'm actually am a vape snob now, although I'll smoke if during the moment.

yep, i've learned that with my vaporgenie too. only brown not dark brown. should crumble fairly easily into a powder and some should stick to your fingers.

i smoked only a few times in the last five months. its always the genie.

What's the best portable vaporizer? The oxygen looks hard to use. Is it? Iolite?

I just made up my mind and bought the Iolite. It's great, and you can easily use it one-handed. Weird though, no visible vapor you need about six or more tiny hits to get flying -- volcano I'm three or four hits max. But who cares, no smell and you look like you're sipping from a straw.

Herbalaire=The best deal in vaporizers.

We've had ours for more than four years.

It had survived much use and abuse and is still as good as new.

It can be used both as a pipe OR to inflate bags.

I've had or used most of the other types out there, and I wouldn't trade our Herbalaire for ANY one of them.

I love my simple little Vaporite--we have an AC adapter that plugs into our lighter spot in the car, so we plug it in, set it between the seats, and GO GO GO! it's grrrrrreat!

I've had my Hot Box vaporizer for 4 years now and I've never had any problems with it. Discreet, and every time I get that great head high that, for some reason, allows me to be productive.
