I'm thinking about getting one of those Sherlock Holmes pipes, but I'm worried it'll be bad for smoking grass with, and I don't smoke tobacco. I just saw Inglorious Basterds and now I want to be just like Hans Landa (he smoked out of this crazy pipe in the beginning). Anyway, does anyone know the deal with this type of pipe?

you can smoke weed out of a tobacco pipe. it's a pipe. me and my buddies used to use tobacco pipes back in high-school because they're cheap and you can engrave shit in them. you can get a wood sherlock for under 20$ and they smoke just fine. just find one that you'll be able to clean, as some of the tobacco sherlocks have uber narrow stems and attachments that can be hard to clean.

they also make glass sherlocks just for smoking weed.. i have one. it's in the pipes & bongs thread. glass sherlocks are a lot more expensive. i got mine for like $70-something about 6-7 years ago.. made out of pyrex, effing bulletproof. hah

I like the ones that have the removable stem. I have never owned or cleaned one myself, buy my buddy has a couple and I can only imagine how easy that would make it compared to bending and folding pipe cleaners and Q-tips.

I don't know a whole lot about smoking out of wood, but I do know a lot about wood. You may get some funky flavours while depending on the type of wood and what you smoke out of it.

Personally, I would keep tobacco out of my bowl and weed out of my Sherlock. If you're young and can't get a hold of anything else, a wooden pipe will work fine. In fact, your probably way ahead of the game considering the ghetto pipes my buddies and I made out of whatever we could find.

Like Herb said the stems are usually super narrow so make sure you get a pack of pipe cleaners and clean it after you use it. The resin left over from pot builds up really fast and sucks trying to un-clog a pipe. I suggest the cleaners with the little pieces of plastic along with soft bristles.

i found the best things for cleaning the ones with removable stems were those plastic tooth-picks with the tooth-flosser-dealy on one side and the pointy side on the other. use the floss dealy as a handle and get in thurr.

nothing will taste as clean as glass, but there's nothing wrong with smoking weed from wood. first pipe my moms got me was this little tiny wood piece.

So You can use anything practically. But like mentioned. Know you can clean it first, cause that WILL be a pain in thine ass shortly.

The aluminum beverage can is really the greatest thing since sliced bread. It can hold carbonated, nourishing liquid and after you're done drinking that liquid you can smoke out of it. I know it's saved everyone a couple times.

My buddy and I usually smoke joints, which leaves us with the very real problem of roach infestation. I have since bought some Randy's (wired) papers which work really well. Regardless, we found the best way to smoke a roach was to get an aluminum can and make a hole just large enough for the smallest portion of the roach to fit into. From where, you light the roach while drawing in air through the can, which then continues to burn as if it was being smoked as a joint.

Too true, but it is set up wrong at the beginning in so much as we need that drink after the fact, possibly more than the smoking itself. So it's always good to have a buddy to split both drinks with
