How to store marijuana seeds and cannabis seed storage FOR IDIOTS like SpankyMcLankey!
A seed is a living thing, and when you put it into a cold environment, the life cycle of the seed slows down. This also means that the degradation slows which in turn means that your seed will last longer than it normally would in an environment where the life cycle of the seed continues at it's normal pace....it's why we put fruit and veg and herbs in the fridge...it slows down the life cycle and the decay, it's the same principle. Seed storage life is doubled for each 5¡ C reduction in storage temperature. Refrigeration to at least 5¡ C is desirable (this is slightly warmer than domestic fridges). The cooler the temperature the more slowly seed vitality declines. This rule apparently continues to apply even at temperatures below freezing. At 5¡ C and below, insects become inactive." I have heard reports of cannabis seeds stored in this manner being germinated with high success rates after 5 years of storage. Whether or not that is attainable for everybody or every seed will most likely be unknown until we gather ourselves a little data, but I believe that this is the best way to make that stash last longer. I'm sorry SpankyMcLankey, but you're the idiot.

in theory, it will keep making sugar to grow until it dehydrates itself. but plants are only like 3% efficient with the light they receive. you were clearly talking about a flower, not a seed.. you can't compare a rose flower to a cannabis seed. cannabis seeds and marijuana flowers are not cut and re-soaked in water... that's how roses survive, those little water containers they put on the end of the rose stem... fuck, what the fuck am i even saying anymore. what the fuck did you think i thought was inside a seed? that's why there is such a thing called a global seed bank, to store the genetics from around the world.. The Seeds are maturing at the expense of the bud's life giving moisture.
Temperature and Relative Humidity are the most important factors affecting
seed quality during storage. Relative humidity is the more important of these. marijuana seeds are hypocrisies, they absorb moisture from wet atmospheres and dry out in dry atmospheres. Seed storage life is doubled for each 1% decrease in moisture content. How to store marijuana seeds, cannabis seed storage The Seeds are still alive and sucking the last moisture out of the bud in order to fully mature. I cut off leaves from a Marijuana Plant and stored them in my humidor, and the leaves stayed the same and as healthy green and maliable, like the day I cut them; for months. I took them out of the humidified enviroment and overnight they shriveled and died. I seem to have over looked your technique in destemming bud?

ok, so now you're talking about seed storage... for a second there I thought you were going to start talking about curing your harvested buds.
Seriously dude, this thread is for de-stemming/seeding, not how to store seeds... lol

Not seed storage; but referencing that seeds are still alive and the bud is the transport.
Like Humans and DNA. Throw the seeds away, they are drying up the bud, while they mature during transport/storage. To de-stem, wet the bud down and just squeeze the seeds and stems out, like paste out of a tube. I don't know how much clearly I can explain it. Keep your weed at 75% Relative Humidity and the seeds and stems should just fall out. And it keeps your buds intacked! That's it.

shit i used my grinder for the first time in like a year a few nights ago. its so nice to just take a pinch and put into the bowl, rather than picking apart the nugs, stems and leaves as you go. Once it's ground, shit, its all one -- of course i do destem as i go tho. ground weed burns so much nicer in a bowl also; rather than having people relight the bowl, it just cherries itself along.

yeah dude I love my grinder, I just have a weird feeling over time you end up losing a lot of THC in all the nooks and crannies of the grinder. Or at least, more than you would if you just broke it apart with your fingers. Then again, you get some of it back with the 4 piece grinders... so they are good and bad, i usually use a grinder if i'm rolling a jay and I have time to do it all neat and nice.
otherwise like i said, i just pull the stem out of the middle and call it good. |

The best way to conserve, that I've heard here at Yahooka,
was using sharp scissors to chop up in a shot glass. but my fingers are too big to pinch a bowl out. So I use a porcelain cooking dish. ![]() Where, I then use a Leatherman to cut into the moist buds like slicing pieces of bread.
