Why do they even make metal pipes? Why is there a market for them at all?

Bear in mind, I didn't PAY for my metal pipe. It was given to me. And after a while, after I smashed all my glass pieces, I was left with only this metal pipe. And I've been stuck with it for probably a year now because I'm too lazy and too cheap to go buy some glass.

The smoke is harsh. Tastes like crap. The ashes get in my mouth. It's ugly.

There is nothing good about a metal pipe.

metal is hardly the worst medium for smoking....I know a guy who sells pipes made out of stone, and another dude who makes antler pipes like in harold and kumar...They both do rather well for themselves, in fact...

Im in the same boat as you Merc, but mine was givin to me with a screen. They do suck pretty bad the smoke tastes like res even if its the most potent weed and you cant take big hits. But because the screen is so clogged its great for smoking keif in so I'm never going to get rid of it, plus idk about yours but I can break mine down into 4 pieces which is not very useful but cool for some reason.

i don't know about the rocks or deers and shit with antlers where you're from, but where i'm from that ish aint metal...

i have a metal pipe that is only used for smoking kif or hash. as long as it is really clean, i would say it works better than a glass pipe for these purposes.

If you took a glass pipe up to 50 people that smoke, they all would could you say the same about an antler pipe or even that more people would smoke out of the antler than the metal pipe?

That is my reasoning for using weird...It bucks the status quo now, not 500 years ago...

I know you have to make do with what's available, but THAT is the #1 WORST way to smoke weed/hash. There's too much air in every hit & it wastes a lot of weed.
Whenever you're in a pinch for a smoking device, get a toilet paper cardboard tube & cut a hole about 3/4ths down. Then take some aluminum foil & carefully push some of it into the hole you've cut. also an apple works well turm.
pull out stem, drive pen halfway down, drive pen halfway through so it makes an L, then smoke away.
The skin is fairly fire proof so it works pretty well.

i agree that metal pipes taste a bit off, but i'll never buy into that always-repeated-stoner-lore that smoking out of an aluminum pipe gives you Alzheimer.
pop can i'll grant some credit though because i think there's a thin plastic coating on the inside, not to mention the paint on the outside.

I gotta say an antler pipe sounds pretty boss. Talk about a good conversation piece. It's getting late in the afternoon but I'm thinking about taking a trip down to my local headshop to look for a wooden indian style peace pipe. I remember in HS my friend had one and it seemed to hit so damn smooth for a pipe. Probably because it was long and narrow, giving a smoother draw on the hit.

Also, I bet wooden pipes hold resin real nicely.
