So my mom decides out of the blue that she wants to set me up with cable television. She gives me like 3 days notice that the cable guy is going to be at my house (which she owns) at 3 o'clock today. Well the cable guy gets here 2 hours early... EARLY! I get the only goddamn cable guy in the world that comes early. Anyway, my house reeks of weed cause my dealer came over last night so I had some fresh smoke.

No fuckin time to air the house out. My mom even ends up coming over too, cause she happens to be in the neighborhood. So here I am trying my best not to acknowledge the heavy presence of marijuana odors while my mom and the cable guy putter around, probably also trying their best not to notice the smell.

Well finally my mom leaves early, and its just me and the cable guy. He seems to be a cool guy as far as I can tell. Young, scruffy, not fake at all. So he turns to me all of a sudden and asks me straight up "Do you grow?". Well I am stunned. I look at him and I say no man I don't grow. Then he says "Well do you smoke?". Well I could have lied but fuck it I need to get on the level with this guy because he also happened to find out that I used to steal cable.

Eventually he leaves and I'm left with sweet sweet on-demand television and a bag of weed. But not before getting called out by the cable guy for stealing cable and living in a house reeking of weed, as well as probably worrying my mom about the smells.

So, fuck. I need to stop slacking on odor control.

Thanks. That's just what I needed to hear... and then some. I worry too much. Mostly I don't like making my mom uncomfortable but I know she wont call the cops or anything like that. Who knows what the cable guy will do. But you're right, he's probably just like me and I would keep my lips zipped.

Still! Fuck. It wasn't a smooth move on my part. I hate feeling like I need to hide my habit all the time.

I swear it crossed my mind to offer to like kick him down with a bowl or smoke him out. And now that I think about it he said that he didn't have anythign else to do today, he was just gonna go home. So that may have been a little hint right there that he's on the level. But fuck me if I'm not a paranoid miser.

i had the cable guy come over yesterday, for my internet but my internet magically fixed itself before he got there, he gave me a free ethernet cable in case it fraps out again, and i mentioned how me and the wife have been fighting more then ever since we lost the remote he laughed and got me a new one from his truck (he said he wrote it off, they're usually like 60$), i didnt even hesitate while he was setting up the remote to work for the tv and digital box i pulled out my bong hijabihippie sent me and handed it to him, it'ls like he wasn't even shocked or said anything just took it and knew what to do with it, real casual.

then again we live the island life here

Sounds to me like the guy was looking to smoke or looking for a hook-up. You should have asked him if he wanted to smoke up. You might have gotten some free channels.

I would think like pizza delivery drivers or construction workers - most smoke.

I have a vape in my cellar that could not be more obvious. When people have been in to fix shit I wish they would ask what it was (even if they smoke they probably wouldn't know what it was as most people don't know what a vape looks like.) If they did, I would tell them and then ask them if they indulged and then proceed to act according to their answer/vibe. If I were growing though, I wouldn't tell my best friend.
