I have a small amount of hash I was hoping to bring with me to Canada on vacation tomorrow. Its currently in my pollen press being compressed, but when its out, it turns out looking like a small green/black disc that weighs about a gram, and has a small amount of odor. I figured when its done, I would wrap it in plastic wrap and the wrap it in duct tape, and put it in the circular base of a empty deodorant container I have. Once secure, I figured it wouldn't draw too much attention as it would only appear as the solid center of the circular bottom of the container. I would then fill it back up with deodorant and piece it back together. My question is, if that is in my checked bag, on an international flight to Canada, am I in pretty good shape?

I am heading to a Canadian city that is fairly large, but the airport is medium sized. My policy is always to never bring weed into that kind of situation so I guess I will just have to deal! Thanks for the responses!

most of the time drugs are detected by dogs when they smell drug residue on the outside of a sealed package of drugs.

i don't know about smuggling hash into canada. airport security is not as outstanding as most people would believe, but the punishments here would be likely severe. whenever i go to america i am always freaked out by all the security precautions

On the other hand I doubt anyone will be on the look out for people smuggling weed into Canada .

I flew international recently, first time for ages. Couldn't believe how much hassle security was.

That'd work easily. I brought shit on domestic and international flights and especially since all you have is a piece of hash, just wrap it up, wear from briefs and tuck it in there. I carried an ounce once and I didn't get caught.

The main thing you have to worry about is customs in Canada if for some odd reason they do, especially if you are traveling from a small airport they aren't going to have a full body scanner. Travel light, dress a bit nice to lessen suspicion and don't have anything that'll get you dinged on a metal detector. In all of my time traveling, I only seen a dog once and it wasn't a drug dog, it was one of those that detect explosives, otherwise I would've been fucked.

I once accidentally smuggled some hash that I left in a pair of pants, I couldn't find it that morning when I left and found it 3 months later, all old and crusted but heck. Mind you, that was 8 years ago a little bit after post 9/11.

The only thing is you'll experience severe paranoia, so if you have a local option you can pick up from, it'll be worth it, no need to stress or get arrested. But if you have the balls and willing to put yourself on the line, it unlikely you'll get caught.
