Doctor shopping for medical MJ card? (They ARE advertising afterall)

So this new South Park is right up our alley; it's all about medical marijuana. And it brings to mind the fact that it's also legal in my state and thousands upon thousands of people have gotten their cards, dispensaries are opening and doctors are advertising their services in the alternative papers.

"Call for medical marijuana screening"

"Marijuana prescriptions written here"

"Get your medical marijuana card"

They're fucking making it seem so easy. And if there's one thing I've learned it's that ad's like that are always too good to be true. But then again it's not like it's a sting operation, cause tha twouldn't make sense.

So what am I afraid of? Rejection. I don't want to go in for a screening (like Randy) and have the doctor tell me I'm perfectly fine and that I can't have a prescription. All the while I sit there looking like a desperate loser stoner.

So what gives? Basically I just really want to buy at the dispensaries.

LOL

I think it's so fucking funny how they portrayed the dispensaries and how the person working there had no soul and how he wanted sue his the dispensary for the door not being wide enough. Cause usually when you go to dispensaries they are SUPER nice to you because they want you to keep coming back. It's just really funny how they portrayed everything in that episode as being really bland.

oh yeah and that stoner kid who walked out of the KFC with the paper bag, bahahahahah. that was so fucking epic.

and what are you talking about doctor shoping? If you are in colorado or california, right now you can't throw a rock and not hit a doctor clinic for marijuana referrals. The only thing you can shop for is a lower price.

What is the problem with doctor shopping? You are looking for a doctor that will prescribe what works for you, pure and simple. By the way, that was a really funny episode! FL will be the last state ever to legalize the maryjane.

There is an old time tradition of doctor shopping until you find one that meets your needs.

i actually ended up getting legalized because of a possession ticket, my lawyer told me it would be easier that way. the charge got dropped to a disturbing the peace after i got legalized while the case was still pending..

anyway its easy if you got the $150. but just look in the paper or internet for ads and give 'em a call. it took me a half hour in the doctors office to get my verification. i have scoliosis which causes back pain, that was my "reasoning". but if you got the money, you could say anything, anxiety, depression, insomnia, pain. i truley do not think anyone would be turned down for a medical marijuana recommendation.

i suggest manning up and getting a better plug if all you want to do is "buy from the clubs". its bout 20/g 55-65/eighth and on. although it is bomb herb, you can grow it too! a lot of clubs are fake as fuck just drug dealers in there hustling.. there are some compassionate places with cool people but are rare it seems. just get on the other side of it and serve the clinics

you're a full fledge retardedling. very often that "prescription that works for you," are pain killers or other types of medication that are generally abused by the user.

People who doctor shop aren't looking for something that works, they are looking to fix their addiction.

And you are retarded.

Funny, I saw a show on Current network about how it's so easy to get oxycontin and stuff like that in Florida. The guy just grabbed one of those ad magazines they have at 7-11 and it had a bunch of ads for pain management. He went to one, got appt same day and they told him it was $200 for a visit, $200 for an xray and then he could buy his Rx at the same location. Talk about a f'in racket man. The dudes brother and wife had both died of OD from I think oxy. He would smoke it off a piece of aluminum foil. They said his brother got over 1000 pills in about 50 days which is just insane.

Very good documentary. Very eye opening. The reason they can do this is because Florida doesn't have an Rx database like most states do. So say in California if you get 100 pills from dr A. and then go to dr. B to try to get 100 more, he may write a perscription but the pharmacy will see you already got the perscription and they will not allow you to get more until you are supposed to.

Regarding the southpark episode, I found it very funny and mostly true. The part where he first goes in and realizes it's legal and he starts naming off what he wants "and a pound of the purple erkel". Lol. That was so familiar to me. The first time I went to a dispensary I was f'in amazed and in heaven. Also, the part where the guy says he can't sell Randy anything unless he comes inside was a very realisic view at the arbitrary bs rules they put forth for patients to follow.

yep, supposedly there are plenty of posters all over the bus stops a such right? "Get Legal" "Get your card today"

In a way i see the ridiculousness of it but only because a large portion of those getting the card are making some bs about insomnia, anxiety, pain here, there. whatever, id do the exact same if i was living there, I do actually suffer from back pain for the last 8 months.

Deviating somewhat from Merc's topic, which I'm glad you resurrected since it's basically Merc month after he went awol and people started missing his character. Hopefully with Mark Dayton (D) running for governor, MN can have the first democrat since 24 years ago when Rudy Perpich was in the mansion.

For those that don't know, Tim [the tin man] Pawlenty with no balls of his own vetoed the largely bipartisan supported bill with med pot bill and that for that reason I hate him with a such a passion. Something to this statement. 'Law enforcement has advised me that it isn't a good idea and kids will be smoking it.'

sorry about the rant, i just hope i can get some reasonable priced edibles since that's the only thing pot related that works well enough.

Welcome back to the forum, btw stoerck

oddly enough, a MN legislature proposed an absurd bill last December i think that would export medical pot grown on MN farms. lol
