how often do you clean your bubbler water?
i seriously change my bubbler water every water every single session
i got this huge chunker just floating in there since when i first got it i used to push down the stem now its like damn a fat chunk of resin is just floating floating around so everytime i use it now i use a screen (those cool glass star screens) and once i empty it i plug the carb and blow out so the shaft gets empited

Leave it in there until the resin chunk is dissolved. You'll have to check it periodically.
No, do not dilute the alcohol with water. When the resin is dissolved, rinse with either warm or hot water until clean. |

Mikey, make sure its 90% alcohol.
Also, rock salt helps the cleaning by adding some abrasiveness inside. Is it gross that I like dirty bong water better than clean? |

well to be honest yes any alcohol will work, but get iso because it evaps very fast, get 90% if you can.
Other alcohols will leave residue and taste, wash your peice out though as it might taste of rubbing alcohol a bit. Isopropyl alcohol is rubbing alcohol. |

Plus rubbing alcohol is the cheapest way to go. I saw a vid one time of Emery saying you should use Everclear and Kosher salt. It made no sense to me, because why waste Everclear when rubbing has better solvent qualities and evaporates really fast. It rinses really easily too. Triple rinsing is good, but I rinse at least 10 times. Kind of weirdly anal that way. Same with the salt. It's used for the abrasive qualities. No reason to buy Kosher salt (If you don't already use it) when table salt will work just the same.
I prefer this to the commercial cleaners. Cheaper, easier, probably cleaner. And it's stuff everybody has around the house. That said, we don't change water nearly as often as we should. |

I stuff Epsom salt into the piece, and fill it with rubbing alcohol 90% and shake it around in there and it tears away all the gunk inside

And I change the water after every use... to avoid buildup, especially if the piece is somewhat clear glass, it looks horrid when it's all dirty inside
