When my Shepherd mix hips started getting bad my vet said to watch for heavy panting, she said it was a sign of pain as well.

that dog went for a 45min walk
there's a reasonable chance a little treatment will see that improve to 1hr etc
obviously you have to get his feet working again
if you've seen an Occupation Therapist in action that would help
try to work his range of motion in his feet, then knees, then gently on the hips
watch his eyes, you'll see pain, back off etc
the aspirin will get in there
once he's lifting his feet he can walk and recover

he might not manage it, obviously
but i've seen it happen
and would recommend that as a reasonable approach

consider also that if his feet have shut down he would only be getting vague nrve response from there, so he wouldn't be acutely aware of the pain
otherwise, you'd know

chill hun
I had him in agility lessons for a short while and the first thing the instructor showed us was how to massage thier back and front legs, and do a little doggy yoga. ive been doing that and it helps a lot, but i know his hips failing are inevitable. im taking him to the vet tmrw and i'll probably put him down, unless theres an inexpensive fix. i went and bought him little doggy boots, but didnt give him the aspirin because it thins the blood and i didnt want him bleeding more.

thank you guys so much for the help <3

sorry blaze for my attitude and rudeness in your time of hurt.

At the time I thought I was justified in my words, but I can see now they were just hurtful.

Im sure this stupid apology doesnt make up for it, but I can see you truly care about your puppy(to me they are all puppies).

Actually, I think a look over by the vet would be best, you would be surprised at what else might give him the same symptoms. My brother had a cat that was 18, he had a small knot come on his neck and started acting like age was getting to him, but the vet said it was his thyroid, and that it happens to older cats often.
it could be arthritis any of a number of things.......
