What does your ideal smoking setup look like?

I just bought a new down stem and a ash catcher for my new 3 perc bong, and I have to tell you, this is the smoothest piece I have ever had:

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

What does your "ideal" smoking setup look like? I know some out there love vaporizing, and blunts, and so on....Let me know!

Also, is there anyway I could upgrade that bong any more? I think 3 percs, 5 different diffusion points, with a ash catcher is pretty nifty.

When I was into smoking I just used glass and metal one hitters/bats when outside, or a small bowl made out of glass and a metal one before glass became widespread and cheap, straight tube glass and acrylic bongs, and now I only vaporize with a magic flight launch box.

I like regular bongs, all that ash catchin diffuser crap is for kids. Seriously, since I got older, I look for the most regular efficient bongs that will provide a hit perfect for my lungs and not be to small or to big.

I like acrylic because glass breaks.

Usually the old school tube with a bubble graffix bong that looks like its from an old stoner movie from the 90's.

I know people with roor's and jerome baker's and its nice, ive had my fair share of overly expensive bongs, but I like functionality over the bull.

A.) Have you ever owned a large bong before? If you have, then saying that a ash catcher is "kid stuff" is fucking retarded. It makes it so you don't have to clean the larger bong area almost EVER...hell, I almost don't even need to change the water most of the time. 100% worth it.

B.) In terms of diffusers, I do believe that it is worth it as well; After hitting it only for the past week or so, I have noticed a large difference in my lungs. I never cough, and the phlegm in the back of my throat is almost 100% gone (as a pretty heavy smoker, these improvements are great). The colder the smoke, the happier I am. The only thing that I would put over diffusers is the coil thing from Illadelph...that thing is fucking sick.

C.) RooRs are one thing. The setup I have is another. A good RooR would cost me $400-500 around here. The bong I have, with ash catcher, was $190 total. I think that pretty reasonable.

my ideal smoking set up hmmm.

Well I'd like to have a whip style vaporizer such as a Da Buddha(my buddy has one and it is perfect) a or a Silver Surfer.

Ya know what though I'm pretty happy with what I got. I mean I'd like a little spoon but I don't really need it haha. I got this little glass one hitter and I love it haha.

Most, if not all bongs ive owned, have been over a foot, you do realize im almost 30 right? ive had ash catchers, and ive had diffusers, im not just sayin the shit to slight you, I really do think its stupid kid shit, it doesnt make my smoking better or easier, it complicates shit.

Never helped my smoking not one bit, but sure did make it fucking clown shoes every time it needed to be messed with. Just not worth it.

Also, what weed are you smoking that you are coughing and spitting up phlegm. Thats a regs problem I do believe, step your quality of weed up, not the bong.

Not only is a good roor, not worth 500 dollars, 190 bucks is way to much for me to spend on a bong in general. Once again ill point out, its something I may have done when I was like 18, but sure as fuck not now when money actually means something.

I lol'd pretty loud hahaha, you don't hear that too much.

Yea man I buy a 10 dollar one hitter and that's $170 more I can spend on bud .

Cuz glass is impermanent no matter how sweetly you treat it. $500 shit that's what I paid for my first car that lasted like 2 years man. In a down recession where pipe prices are steep, but houses are cheap, it's kinda silly buying $500 bongs. When there's like $10,000 LEGIT houses in the suburbs and shit.

I see what you guys are saying, but I would rather have a nice bong than a shitty bong, and since I can afford it at this point, why not splurge a little to make my smoking experience more enjoyable? I have kind of turned into a weed nerd for lack of a better term, but i really do think some of these little extra's are getting me higher by either allowing me to take better hits, or keeping my bong looking nicer/cleaner.

Anyways, check this shit out:

That is gorgeous. Thank you.

I don't care how careful you are, a cat can wreak mayhem & destruction in a red hot minute.

This, friends, is why I go with acrylic.

Local head shop's here in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada). One has a two foot RooR without a down stem/bowl for $400, non negotiable. These also had some crazy ass RooR pipes for $200 a piece, but the looked pretty meh.

As for cats, Ha, I completely hear that. I had a two cats when I lived in Oregon with my family, and they literally destroyed 3-4 bongs..luckily now I just have dogs, so I can just put my pieces out of reach

My ideal smoking setup varies, but I'll try to get the basics down.

1.A nice 1g joint, rolled in hemp paper with a crutch filter (I've heard it called alot of things, I call it a crutch)

2. My old double perc with ash catcher and perc down stem, the one the cops got, that was my best bong yet. The hit, so smooth...

3. My "Magic Mushroom" pipe. Its like a 2 chambered glass piece, 4.5 inches long, the fruiting body and the stem of the mushroom(not a straight stem, but a big bubble in the glass) both fill with smoke, and the carb hole is small for the size of the pipe. All this adds up to make a handheld glass pipe toke like a 18 inch steamroller.

4. My bat and dugout. Helps me stay a certain level of high all day w/o using a ton of my stash.

well-You have a nice vaporizer.

Here's a pic of the type I have.

It's small but it works and you don't have to use the tube to inhale the vapor.

It runs on re-chargable batteries that last a long time and they're making an adapter for it as well.

You can attach the tube into a bong or there's a silicone whip that you can use for this as well. I know some people who like to take their vapor through water in a bong but I'm fine with just inhaling it on its own.

I'm 45 and thought the diffuser was a sales gimmick, but I gotta admit, I'm pretty sold. Even the raunchiest of dirtweed goes into my lungs smooth as silk.

I love the old school Graffix. There's just a certain appeal to them. The original color changers, no? It's just that color was always...well...dirt y. But you could pick up a really cool looking one, with a stash holder AND a lighter caddy (I never thought I'd ever use the word "caddy" to describe a holder) for like $15. Ahhh, memories.
