Cleaning Question
The SO and I have a long running disagreement over rubbing alcohol and salt versus something like Orange Chronic. She keeps wanting to use OC and I'm an alcohol/ salt guy. My reasoning is that with alcohol is I can let the tars evaporate and smoke them. Hers is that it's Orange Chronic, but she can't come up with any other reasons to use it.
Opinions? Also, what's in OC? |

OC is rubbing alcohol with added colours and scents, and some salt, so that they can charge a higher price for what is mostly rubbing alcohol and salt

I was (and still am) a scraping guy, and the acrylics back in the day could only be cleaned so much. In the last few years, as I've gotten more nice glass, I'd usually just leave clean hot water in them and shake them up, then rinse and repeat as needed. Our Zong was getting really gross, and I happened to see Emery on something doing the alcohol/ salt thing. Tried it and was sold. This all got started because we have two smaller glass waters that are getting kinda plugged and I'm talking giving them an alcohol soak. And she keep saying to use the OC. Women. Can't live with 'em, can't get 'em to clean the damn piece herself. |

My personal favorite cleaner is Simple Green. It's made from sassafras. It's non-toxic, you can buy it at the grocery store, you can clean your whole house with it, and it doesn't smell half bad.

I use Simple Green to clean houses. I've never used it to clean pipes but I had no idea it was made from Sassafras and non-toxic.
