Smoking stable hash?

So I picked up a couple grams of hash from a buddy of mine the other day, and I am sort of at a loss on how to smoke it. I have obviously smoked hash before, many a time (usually off of a a screen with a bubbler, or vape), but this stuff is ROCK hard. Usually I can crumble of a few pieces easily enough, but with this stuff its impossible. Here's a picture:

I tried cutting little pieces off with scissors or a sharp knife, but even that is highly difficult and risky (had several small chunks get launched across the room because I was trying to hard to cut). So my question is, how would you go about breaking this stuff down to smoke? What are your favorite means for smoking hash?

I believe the definition of stable is something that resists change in position or condition. So when I said stable hash, I meant hash that was very hard to the touch/hard to manipulate. Some hashes, at least in my experience, can be malleable (almost like play-dough), or even mud like (budder).

Maybe you should heat it slightly to soften it? If its good hash, and it looks good, then its mostly oil and a little heat will soften her right up. By heat, I'm thinking put the hash in a bag and wrap it inna warm towel for a few minutes. Also, I always use a sharp razor to cut hash, like an x-acto knife or a shop knife.

Heat it directly with a lighter, pinch off the heated bit between finger and thumb, and you should be able to crumble it.

Thumbs up

^ was gonna suggest small side cutters or the curved toenail type (clean first).

but heating like nun said sounds easiest.

nice looking hash by the way.

put it in a piece of tin foil
make it a big piece of tin foil so u can hold one end without burning yourself

so once you put it in tin foil heat it up with a lighter until the foil goes black and then theres a bit of smoke

then take the hash out and put it in your fingers it'll break up and crumble into almost powder

now you can mix this with weed
or smoke it out of a pipe bong bottle wtv with a screen

or if you smoke cigarettes (i quit ) you can put a tiny little piece of hash on the end of a burning cigarette and inhale the smoke

your welcome!
