hey fellas,

I bought a giant bud(1/4 oz) last night from the dispensary. It was fresh, stink and super sticky. The budtender told me that the bud was dried and cured and ready to smoke. But I have my doubt: it smells very fresh and feels very sticky.

I'm a "weekend smoker" and this giant bud is going to last me for three weeks, if not a month. It would be such a shame to see mold growing inside this beautiful bud.

So my question is, what is the best way to dry your weed at home? I've heard a lot of different ideas: leaving it out in a dark cool place for an hour, putting it in a hot oven for a minute, giving it direct sunlight, and etc.

any idea? Thank you

put it in a jar and burp it for 10-15 minutes per day.
It's probably semi-dry, what it needs now is a bit of a cure.

give her once last drink.....of rhum...stand it up in a vase with rhum overnight.....then flip and dry

burp...really? soak in rhum...wtf? if you gonna mess around, might as well be a little creative. I've heard this one: give the bud a quick sautéing, bring the sauce to au sec, then flambé with cognac.

i use this technique all da time...it usually freaks people out when i tell 'em how we do it.

just like a bouquet of roses.....

let sit in a dark room overnight and flip 'em in the morning.

got it. sorry this is totally 'outside the box' thinking to me. i will definitely give it a try next time i have more weed. Not this time tho cuz this bud is the best i've seen in a very long time. thank you Pharm Girl

as soon as she's cut and the leaf trimmed is when this method can be used...she'll only drink at this time anyways.....the stalk will turn a slight brown overnight...then flip her!

The Don

If the stem snaps when you bend it, it's dry. You can smoke it. If not, keep it in a dark well vented area, and check on it. Hang it if you can. If you can't hang it, remember to turn them every so often.

It's ready to smoke when the stem snaps.

If you wan't a really nice smoke, you'll need to cure it.

Curing is getting jars/bags/boxes or whatever can create an air tight seal. You place your bud therein, and seal it. Then you let it "burp" everyday, for about 15-20 mins or w/e. Burping is simply to open your container and let some fresh air down to the buds.

The science of it escapes me, but you I think the process is turning chlorophyll into some sort of molasses, which really enhances the taste. It makes it more smooth, and really gives your bud a nice body. So to speak.

You can do this for however long you like, the more you cure it, the more "mature" the taste of the buds will become.
