Sorry, that was a bit cryptic.

Welcome SexRaiinboaz.

What are the materials you have?

I have clay, water, and a stick. It's sort of pitiful. I know a guy that can fire it.

lol I used to make clay bowls back in highschool and sell them to people who couldnt find any glass. I found it easiest to make sherlocks. I used the sculpting clay that would harden in the oven. Basically I wrapped clay around a pencil, slid the pencil out and then formed a sherlock shape with a bowl on the end.

If your making a bowl out of clay i wouldnt expect great quality.

we used to make make shift pipes out of river clay then wrap em in tinfoil and fire them in the bonfire. they never lasted long, extremely brittle, but it was fun.

all i can really suggest is trial and error, no specific technique. a clay steamroller would be cool if you could get it to work

I kinda miss making homemade bongs n stuff. My best were the giant gatorade bottles & big orange juice bottles. Burn a hole, stick in the pen, duct tape a socket to the end Try to make better ones than your friends...

But those days are gone and now i have a 200 $ glass piece

A chillum is pretty common shape for clay.... there isn't an arm or bend to break, so you're actually increasing the quality by keeping it simple.

And, as that goes.... it sounds like you already have everything you need right now.

Chillums are super old school and these dudes called Sadhus, are fellas who don't have much and they wonder all over India, so you know it's got some durability

Nice job on the sadhu shoutout sage, thats what i always think of when i think of chillums

read a book by Baba Rampuri, and he was saying as a disciple his foremost job was to look after his gurus 17ft pot plants and keep his chillum constantly packed

17. foot. pot. plants.

no wonder these dudes are so heavy

edit: chillums are pretty easy to make, what you REALLY gotta think about is what kinda designs are you gonna etch in it. also you could easily embed some cool looking fake gemstones or cool looking rocks in the clay. homemade clay pipe is a really cool idea for a gift man, good luck

just a heads up, most clay you can fire in your oven is NOT safe to smoke out of, releasing toxic fumes and whatnot

Is that from the clay or the glaze?

i think the actual clay itself, though some kinds might not. most oven firing clays work because of all sorts of weird polymers. i remember reading that if you bake it at too high of a temp the clay will release toxic fumes, and i can only imagine that your lighter/the burning weed exceeds those temps.

Quote:
While rather less emphatic than the former commenter, I agree. Polymer clays are just PVC, and as such it's probably not a good idea to smoke them. The plasticisers, usually the really nasty stuff in burning plastics, are removed in the baking process, however burning PVC releases unpleasant and carcinogenic chemicals. (One could argue that if choosing to smoke, that's a risk you're already willing to take...) Seriously though, just use regular clay and borrow someone's kiln... Even air dry clay (might, I haven't looked into it) work even.

Do you have access to a kiln? Don't glaze it.

A friend of mine had a clay bowl that her BF at the time had made for her and it was made out of red clay.
