Harsh smoke. Need to smooth it out.

I'm bongless right now and I don't have the pieces to make a pop-bottle bubbler and I'm not about to go buy anything. Any ideas on how to smooth out my smoke? All I have is a can and it's been hurting my throat. Not sure if it's because the smoke is too hot or what, but it ruins the experience.

Maybe there is a way i could use ice cubes? Or change my technique? another way to smoke?

what i do when the blends i make are too dry, is throw a couple chunks of carrot in the jar. I dunno if it's because your buds are too dry, but dry buds are certainly a source of harshness. maybe it would help?

probably just need some better herb. harsh herb is still harsh out of a binger.

id kick smoking out of the can too, just go buy something made from glass in the very least. that should help a little.

you could get an apple and make a pipe and then put it in the freezer for a half hour before you smoke from it.

Bottom one has the bowl /carb, full of water
punch holes in the bottom of the top can and fill it with ice
then stack them up and rip em! works better than you'd think

oh btw you could try water curing the bud if its nasty. you basically soak the buds in clean water, change the water, soak more, change the water, soak more, dry the buds and smoke.
