14 is young...im 25 and would probably not hangout or smoke with anyone under 19, and thats only cuz i know some 19yr olds who can get some killer shit. otherwise it would prolly be 21.

My little sister was 16 when I was 20.
I'd just moved back into My Mom and her's home after a few years away.

Lil' Sister was smoking some then, not a lot though.

What bothered me was that she was buying it from trouble-kids, in trouble-spots, and it was SHIT grass anyways.

SO basically... I started letting her get small amounts from me.
It helped me out, and it also made it so that I was able to see how much/when she was using...
Really seemed to work out just fine.

After I left home again the next year I think she went a little full blown with her smoking, but she was getting to be the age I was when I started, 17.

At least she bought from my Friends, so I knew she wasn't going to get into trouble that way.

Not smoking and driving... She still does that WAY more that I think is a good idea

Is what I did more harmful or helpful...

I'd like to think it was helpful.

I was able to model behaviour some what and show her a different side of cannabis use that she was being exposed to.

I just hired a new sales rep I believe she is 29ish. Any way after about a week-of-kind-of knowing-her, we were driving though a fairly shady area, and we started talking about "Crack Heads", then weed, I guess she felt comfortable enough to tell me she just started smoking weed, and a lot of it. I was like oh ok... Hmm I know I am a year or two younger then you, and I guess kind of look like I might smoke, but I am your superior. I just found it kind of weird, she was funny about it though. "Who doesn't smoke weed their whole live then turns into a pothead at the age of 26". was her exact quote.

We've actually had OLDER people here post for the first time that've just started toking.

It DOES seem a bit odd though for sure.... but eh? Good on em!

I have been trying to talk my gf into it for a year now! I think with my back being all jacked up, and the fact she encourages me to us mj for the pain, she might try some tincture sooner then later.

I started smoking and drinking socially around the time I was a sophomore in high school. I don't believe the issue should center around maturity as much as potential long term health effects. The human brain is something that we are not likely to fully understand for a very long time. More to the point, the complete effects of substance "x" on developing brain "y" are largely unknown and will probably remain that way for the foreseeable future.
