pre-mold??
Well, I made a big mistake and left my medi in a plastic bag in the car on a hot day. Plus, it wasn't trimmed well so there was excess plant matter. So when I retrieved my sack later on, it was kinda funky... Some of the nuggets seemed almost moist, some appeared to have a light golden fuzz on it, and the bag smelled like hay. I separated out the stuff that looked way too weird, and was left with stuff that was still questionable and also a small handful of stuff that had no strange appearance or smell.
Has anyone experienced this before?? I've seen it before and have heard growers refer to that golden fuzz as "pre-mold"--as opposed to full-on mold or what? The bad stuff, I intend to compost. The questionable stuff is in a paper bag to get ventilation in the hopes that it'll clear up or something. And the good stuff, I trimmed up nice and am thinking a mason jar with the lid not sealed all the way is the way to go... What do you all think? Any helpful hints? thoughts? ideas? What is pre-mold and is it safe to blaze pot that has come in contact with it? Needing reassurance... I feel like a fool.. >_<* |

^ sorry to hear about the 'fuzz'....not my favorite word...had that happen myself just recently...and there's nothing you can do about it!...ahh i feel for ya..that's exactly what happens when things get too hot...or....the mold coulda been there to start with...had lots of bud rot this year...if it's there and you don't catch it right away...things just go down hill from there...
welcome to Yahooka...too bad it took the 'fuzz' to getcha here though...

Pretty sure smoking mold can cause a lung infection/pneumonia... if you're kind of confident that it is mold, i would go against trying to blaze. put it in a paper bag with the top closed for a day and shuffle it around in there to cycle the air every once in a while... if it still smells and looks funky toss it

inhaling mold can be dangerous, smoking it...not so much.
make oil from it. butane type. A word to the wise...never buy damp weed. Stems should "snap" when broken. Moisture only adds weight.

Make oil is the right answer. You may or may not get a lung infection, it's luck of the draw really. But forreal, don't do that to your body. No weed is worth it in the long run.
You do not. Do. Not. want mold in your lungs.

thanks for the replies!
Yeea... the more I think about it, I don't think I'm gonna use ANY of it. Not even the stuff that "appeared" untouched by the funky fuzz. Why chance it?
Especially with October just around the corner... Compost! |
