Haha...It doesn't. It's like someone who was born in America saying they're mexican because all of their family is Mexican, except in America many mexican people have families who recently immigrated. My mother's side is mostly Scottish, Irish and Welsh, and My dad's side is mostly Scottish and Irish. But by far Scottish and Irish are the dominant genes. Also Nova Scotia is a super scottish town. It has some of the only Scot-Gaelic speaking communities in the world besides Scotland.
Why do we call black people African Americans even though they haven't had relatives from Africa for hundreds of years? If anything I'm a Scot-Mick-Canuck-American.

I know its a province..what did I call it? I havent smoked weed in 3 fucking days so sorry if Im a bit scattered. And no theyre not first generation. My dad was born and raised in Nova Scotia. And I know Im not "scottish" persay. Im a celtic American canadian Mutt. Its mostly a joke because I have a very scottish looking beard (dont act like you dont know what I mean haha), drink exclusively Cutty sark/Johnny Walker/Crown Royal and am in a celt/americana folk punk band. My girlfriend always calls me a scottish bastard. It's tounge in cheek.
