Hello!

I made a pretty extensive post in the "When did you start smoking pot?" poll, so check in there for my introduction - sorry if I got too long-winded (should have known there would be an Introduce Yourself forum)! I've been watching the twitter feed for awhile but never really felt the need to post before. I live in Kentucky now, so don't let the Cali. references fool ya! I'm BlueGRASS all the way!

No problem, mate, got your life story right here...

I got my first "lid" for 10 bucks, about 4 fingers in a baggie, of Acapulco Gold! I really didn't get much of a buzz the first time, but the next day after smoking about half a joint I was FLOATING! Me and Mary Jane have been going steady ever since, and knock on wood, I've never been busted and I'm 51 years old! I tried some acid back in the 70s, purple and yellow sunshine, some microdot, windowpane, but only dropped maybe 40-50 times in my life, and I stopped dropping by the time I was 22 or 23. By then it was all blotter acid and I didn't know who was making it, so I didn't trust it. Was the same with crystal meth - I tried it when I lived in Santa Clara Cali. in the mid 80s, since I knew someone who had access to the chem lab at Stanford and made really good quality stuff. But that only lasted a few months while I was on the swing shift, and after that I never tried the "bathtub" stuff - again, not trusting where it came from.

But I digress...that's my whole drug history instead of "just" pot! MJ is the only thing I have done since the late 80s, and I don't feel like I've missed anything, and pot still does the trick! Thanks for asking!

Hey there! Thanks for the welcome and it's great to have a spot where everybody's on the same plane! I'll post that pic here in a minute, for sure! I tried posting a couple of things last night but a few of the forum threads said I wasn't able to post in them, so I'll re-check and try again. Y'all be cool and have a great day!

Okay - technical difficulties here! I can't post in the Balls...I Got Em thread - it takes me to a page that says my account isn't allowed to post there. While someone gets that worked out on your end, I'll take a look for a couple of pics I might have left over from the 70s, but I have a current pic to post now, too. Take care guy & gals - will check back in a bit!

Oh okay no problem! I will be around to post plenty, so I doubt I will have to wait the 30 days out I usually work until 4-5 PM CST, but we got off early today and I am heading to the shower. It's HOT in KY! Luckily I work inside, in a print shop, so it's nice and air conditioned. Now if I can just get the A/C fixed on my car, I might not get so sweaty on the way home!

Glasgow? wow...small world. you are about 11 miles from where my mom and dad used to live. Horse Cave (Bearwallow to be exact). i've been to Glasgow many times.

you most likely work in that big printing place that does the mags. i don't remember the name. i'm sure it's the only one. lol. do they still switch everyone's shifts every 6 weeks? my brother worked there years ago, and that mandatory shift switching was a bitch.

Ah - you're thinking of R.R. Donnelly & Sons - although I would like to have a job there because it would be full-time work, they haven't been hiring in over a year (and I have a cousin who's worked there for 22 years, and even he can't get me "in"!) so I am working at a little shop in...Horse Cave! It's a small place called Jobe Publishing, and the print 7 local weekly newspapers in the area - "last week's news, this week" is what I'd categorize them as Lots of advertising in them, circulars and whatnot, and really, who needs to know immediately what the City Council did in their meetings - property taxes are the same, yada yada. Oh, and the owner and "publisher" gets to have his political column in every edition, so it's the same old small town it ever was. I may sound like I don't appreciate the job, but after 20 months on unemployment, and going back to college for 3 semesters and living off student loans, I'm SO glad to have a job, no matter the hours or pay!

Yeah - it IS a small world, after all! I'm going to get on a Donnelly as soon as they start hiring. I was reading the thread "What purpose should life bear?", and was going to express how 32 years of working in my profession has been tolerable, even satisfying at times, but I can't say I've been "fulfilled" as a human being. After going to college in the past 2 years, and having time to actually read and learn about our political system and how it has destroyed anything resembling an "American Dream" (if there ever was such a thing) I think my "heart" would be more fulfilled if I went into something like photojournalism, documenting the conditions of the rural poor and those who are on the losing end of policies which at times seem to be drawing humanity to its end. But enough doom & gloom! I am just happy now that I can feed and house myself independently after this rough period of the past 2 years. And Glasgow is a great little town! I have friends and relatives here, and while they kid me about my "big city" and "librl" ideas, they tolerate me, and we have a pretty good time throwing jabs at each other! One thing most of the family my age agrees on, though - is that MJ and hemp would bring this country out of their depression AND recession, and would help to clean the air in the process! I dream of fields of Kentucky hemp being harvested and turned into clothes, oil, rope, and everything we could make to replace plastics and nylon - that crap has bugged me since the "silk" balloon-sleeved shirts of the 70s!

Man, I've wrote a Chapter! I'll never get 30 posts with posts this long! Again - Great to see a "homie" on here, and then next time you're in the area feel free contact me and we can say HIGH!

Oh yeah - they still switch shifts every 6 weeks, and are pretty much assured of the plant staying open since they print the regional edition of the TV Guide - about 3.5 million circulation - good job security!

Rest assured if you ever have the will/need to grow some high quality marijuana, this is the place to go! The idle chatter is fun too, but to top it off, we got games!

Ahh - it would be great to be able to grow, but I rent and the landlord has a key Also, the cops around here are Nazi-like and I'd hate to get busted - and to think I used to live in Colorado Springs in 98-99, and moved when Digital closed down Oh well, maybe I can find a spot to set out a few plants in the fields around here - I hope!

See Ya in a Bit!
