Greets from NYC

Heyyy everyone at YaHooka. Just stumbled across your forums and have spent the last seven hours or so here. Obviously, I have way too much time on my hands. I run an up and coming music blog with full downloads called RhymesWithCusack (hence the username, minus the k) and I invite you all with this shameless plug to visit (and bookmark us!) over at RhymesWithCusack: Lifesaving Music Recommendation & Reviews, Videos, MP3 Downloads, More….

Outside of RWC, I'm big on photography and Beat Generation authors. I'm studying culinary arts in Manhattan and am a Brooklyn native. Geez, this is starting to sound like a lame OkCupid profile. Anyway, hope I can contribute here and upload some musical gems to share.

And nice to meet you all...

Yea, native New Yorker. I live in Williamsburg but can usually be spotted in Carroll Gardens, around Court Street. If I'm in Manhattan, it's LES.... Cool to have a neighbor, small world.

Welcome my friend. I was born in Flushing Queens, and now live a little over and hour north of Manhattan. I was 13 days from starting Culinary Arts at the CIA in Hyde Park, moved there and everything, but decided a life in the kitchen was not for me! good luck. I still do some catering gigs and some personal cooking jobs.

If I ever start a band... it's going to be "The Flushing Queens" for sure

IS that SERIOUSLY what the name of the town is called?

Working in the industry definitely isn't for everyone. I'm putting in my time now as a sous chef out in north NJ and the hours are tedious, the pay is minimal, and the majority of the work is unappreciated.

Seriously awesome to have a few people from the city here. I'm glad I joined up. I'm going to put up some music later this week and see how it goes. I do a playlist each month of independent singles from upcoming artists and I'm compiling July right now. Hope it goes over well.. plenty of nyc artists, a few from Brooklyn, already made the cut!

Love the review on the new Fleet Foxes. Yeah I was a line cook, then and sous chef for almost 2 years. I left a job making double and work an eighth. I now have the same job make 3 times as much and work 100 fold less. I miss it from time to time, but its the nostalgia kicking in, selective memory.
