The Sun is fairly inexpensive.
for more comprehensive answers I would try the Growing the Good Herb sub-forum.

No such thing as inexpensive lighting for 10 plants. Good lighting is expensive because it keeps you from burning your house down. 10 mature plants would take a shit load of room with a shit load of lights to grow to completion unless you want a bunch of scraggly light starved plants. Try one plant under one lite and learn from there. Grown right you can get 5 to 7 ounces off a single plant.

I've grown more than 10 plants, with a 1000w HID lamp, doing the sea of green method. It was pretty labor intensive tho and not for beginners. The lamp was about $450 with hood, but that was years ago. Idk what they run today.

Inexpensive lighting Bahahahaha, 1500-2000 watts, final answer. If you cough up fat cash you can save in the long run with led but them are expensive initially. Good luck, or as MN has recommended SOG/SCROG with 1000
