i've never had a problem with the free trial versions of programs. all you have to do is click an extra window that says "register later" a couple times and you get the same program

Giffy - This program lets you create transparent gifs relatively easy. The only problem is you must pick a colour for the transparent parts that isn't in the picture, as all of that colour will be transparent.

I recommend both these programs regardless if your in a situation. there free and for the best freeware for protecting your computer and keeping it from slowing down.
