pretty riveting so far.

I think more needs to be said about the sex scene. WORST sex scene ever. I found myself looking for the remote so i could hit mute. Who the fuck decided that, that was a good song for a sex scene? On another note why did they decide to become "super" heros? Were there ever any "super" villains that needed to be fought? I found myself asking alot of really basic storyline questions on the way out of the theatre after this one. The only thing that is stopping me from calling this movie the complete piece of crap I thought it was is the little voice in my head that says "well maybe they explained that in the book" after every question I have.

Did anyone actually have "powers" besides Dr. Manhattan? Could he actually see his future? If so, why does he seem genuinely surprised by some things?

+ 2 and a half hours of "wait what the fuck is going on here"
+ A Blue cock every couple scenes (and yes I got the fact that he stopped wearing clothes as he became less human, it was really more the fact that they tried to not show it every now and then, but then BAM there it is again that made it weird because your always wondering "hmmm.. is there going to be a big blue cock in the next scene. I felt like I was a bathroom attendant in the smurf village always worrying "Oh god, I hope I dont see another blue cock today")
+ Worst musical score EVER (The placement of chessy 80's songs was just to much)
/ A couple reasonably good scenes.

All of that does not add up, to a good movie.

But all of this is just what I thought, maybe you guys knew something about the movie that I didnt. But even if you totally disagree with everything I said, you have to agree that the sex scene on the ship with some weird ass bible story inspired song in the background just made me queasy.

They were retired super heroes, they just got back in action. They fought regular criminals not necessarily super villains.

The other had "powers" i could discern such as insanely fast reaction time and exceptional strength. I got the notion that ozzymandius had something to do with slowed down time, as in he didnt age[it implied he had lived through all periods of man, ie he mentioned talking with alexander(i would assume the great)] and also that no one was faster than him, i assumed this meant he percieved time differently than everyone else.

Others would say the choice of music was brilliant, but to each their own.

And yes i assume most of the stuff you didn't catch was explained in much more depth in the book, they attempted to paraphrase the history associated with it but theres only so much you can squeeze into a 2.75 hr movie. Everything i had read suggested the movie should have been like 10-12 hours to fully tell the story.

I was a huge fan of the graphic novel in high school, and now have been a little hesitant to see the movie yet. Its stupid, but I kind of hate having something I considered to be a rare gem in the literary world and turned into a massive, pop-culture box-office dynamo.
I remember reading it, and being hit with the major allegories within it, both for the advancement of humankind and specifically within the last century of the United States.
But from hearing comments from idiots like "Weedsack", its obvious that this is simply regarded as another stereotypical superhero movie by its mass audience. "Duhz, where's their powers? If they don't have cool powers, I don't care." Good lord, why is this a movie? I really really love the graphic novel, and if someone like Weedsack is going to pay cash and not "get" this movie, it should just be left as a graphic novel.
If your smart enough to "get" Watchmen, you are probably gonna benefit more from reading it than watching it. It seems most of the praise for this film has been, "Wow the digital effects are awesome".

The symbolism in that movie wasn't quite strong enough. I think they should've put subtitles of the political issue they were trying to cover at the bottom of each scene. Would've made things a little easier to understand.

And by that I mean, ..., that was a pretty awful movie. Holy fucking boring. They've got the no plot Sin City going on, but they play it off horribly, and the script and the lack of caring about a single fucking character.

Weedsack, I agree with every point made. The sound track was retarded. Hmm what popular song can we throw in here that makes no sense with the progression of the lack of plot? Hendrix?? Great idea.

That one sex scene was kind of hot until the dude couldn't get wood and it was like wtf.

That movie would've been 1000x better if they had thrown a zombie invasion in there.
