Burning movies that play on the Xbox 360 as well as reg DVD players

Is it possible and how do I it?

I'm generally fine with watching my movies on my computer, but my pops just got a 42 inch plasma and we're tryin to take advantage of that.
I use my 360 as a DVD player and have no reason to buy one.
And we'll be connecting the PC to the TV with an S-Video card, but I want the physical copies so I can watch them when and where I want so I don't have to wait for the PC to be open and so I can take it to my girl's house or something.

Or you could just network your Xbox to your PC through WMP.

Converting Formats of the video is required for some DVD players.

"convertxtodvd" should do exactly what you want. It will convert almost any format you wish to dvd compatible movie with menus etc.

Although you should be able to stream divx, xvid etc to the xbox from your pc. Google something along the lines of "streaming media to xbox 360". I never burn anything that isnt a BD-25 anymore, i just stream my SD and HD movies to my ps3.

edit - converting will take some time, you should really look into streaming, it will save you alot of time and effort and you wont need to worry about discs etc.

I can stream... I just like the portability of DVDs over a 360.

On the low tier DSL line that I have, the S video can be more efficient, especially when the bandwidth is being hogged by my dad's machine. I don't know why its like that but our network is really screwy.

ya but your xbox is in a LAN , it shouldnt be affected by your ISP's bandwidth

360 wont play them.. just go out and buy a dvd player that plays DVDs, DVDrs and DVRs... also you may beable to unlock the region code on your current dvd player to do this, just google that shit

Any 360 with a samsung drive will play copied discs.
