Knoppix

So..

Anyone used knoppix and can give me a hand?

My comp failed to boot - couldnt read hall.dll asked me to reinstall it.

i found this was a symptom of a failing hard disk, and since i couldnt boot in any fashion i decided to give knoppix a go to see if i can copy my files off before i try system restore cd's.

but while knoppix detects my main HD (SATA) -the one with windows from it that i boot from, it dosent show any of my files from my second IDE disk i use for storage.

so i run testdisk, and it tells me my boot HD is ok but my IDE has

"incorrect number heads / cylender 225 (NTFS) !=16 (HD)"

and "bad encoding head CHS + LBA dont match"

So, is my second HD (the IDE) causing my boot to fail perhaps?

or is knoppix simply not picking it up?

Any ideas of what i could try to acess it?

any ideas at all?

thanks heaps in advance,
