Best games for Wii?
So rumor is we're getting a Wii from my mother in law for Christmas. (I know, nice way to keep it a surprise, huh?) I've been eking out my ole' PS2 for years now and I really don't know what's out on Nintendo these days. I play a lot of RPG's, but I'm open to anything. So what 5 or 6 games should I buy first?

If you like RPG's i would advise "zelda - the twilight princess", its a bit old, but that game was really fun. I especially loved the mounted combat in that game. The way the wii mote and nunchuk controls works really stands out in that game. It made what would normally require complex and likely lame controls, very easy to learn and master. Stuff like controlling where to move your mount while aiming at the same time was incredibly smooth, i couldnt imagine perfecting that nearly as quickly using my ps3 controller.
In my experience, nintendo seems to be making the best games for the wii. As well, from what i have played, they seem to be the only company really making good use of the wii's controllers. I had tons of fun playing "mario galaxy". That game had really cool use of the wii mote too. Although i stopped playing my wii a fair bit of time ago(Mostly use my entertainment free time to download and watch bluray movies now), These were some of my favorite games: Mario Party games Mario Karts Mario platformers Super smash brothers Zelda's Super strikers charged Links crossbow training Basically anything mario or nintendo in general is pretty damn good. The virtual console is pretty awesome also. Soft modding your wii is really easy too(you basically just need a SD card and a reader for pc), and then you can use emulators and whatever.

METROID TRILOGY!!!!!!
monkey ball is dope.. i was really dissapointed with excite truck.. light-gun shooters are really satisfying on the wii too, and make me feel like a kid in an arcade or at the movies dropping coins to blast zombies and shit. res evil is also really awesome on the wii.. no more heroes and that newer game by the same team are also reallllly dope.. boom blox is another favourite.. they should do a remake of wave race,, that'd be dope

turry dont be a nigrfgt.
its a different sort of consol, not trying to take the place of traditional controlled consols ya douche. anyway. best games: mario kart super mario galaxy i play the wii sports that comes with it as much as any (always playing with multiple people so this works well) also, if you're looking for a drinking video game consol the wii is for you. lotta drinking games you can come up with. (bowling, golf, racing, etc) |

the wii is a piece of shit...the only decent flying game is blazing angels which is pretty cool. when i play video games we all smoke out and sit on the god damn couch i aint into standing up each time it's my turn. the graphics suck ass too just read my thread on the wii i just made...i hate that god damn thing it has no better graphics than a ps1. go ahead and try playing call of duty with that gay remote...i beat the game but it took me like 2 weeks and i'm badass. the wii is for little kids plain and simple...tell your mother inlaw you dont want that gay ass console you want a ps3.

you must be like 13 if you enjoy the wii.
the only people i've seen who enjoy the wii are people who know nothing about video games and play them maybe once every 5 years or little retarded kids.

i have a wii and a 360.
360 is better for gaming by yourself (serious gaming). wii is better for interacting and playing with others and like i said before great for drinking games. |

Yeah, you said that already. Anything new or worthwhile to contribute?

That's cool. I respect both Terry's and 'laces' opinions. I really like video games, but I wouldn't consider myself a hard core gamer by any means. I may yet get myself a PS3 for games like GTA:4 and Batman, but since the kid's been born I'm lucky if I play 5 hours in a month, ya know? I'll definitely pick up Zelda and Mario Galaxy. My youngest brother is addicted to all the Smash Bros games but I don't see the point of a fighting game where the characters are so far away you don't see them. The Rock Band/guitar Hero genre is also lost on me, but I realize I'm in the minority there.
Edit: ASG, WTF is "Animal crossing City Folk?"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_Crossing_(Wii) *lovelovelove*I also really like Mario Kart, any of the Mario games are pretty awesome...except Smash Bro's Brawl...I don't like that one much, my son does though. EA Sports Active Personal Trainer is awesome...and it's fitness!
