We all remember when Aeris died in FF7 but FF6 had so many unforgettable moments

This is one of the first that comes to mind...

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/AI_JoesHLeM&hl=en&fs =1&"></param><param name="allowFullScree n" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptacc ess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/AI_JoesHLeM&hl=en&fs =1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="a lways" allowfullscreen="tru e" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

And as an 11 year old in 1989, I was quite moved by the ending to the original Ninja Gaiden:

oh i think i used the money to buy a weapon proper for my skill set (fencing), and promptly lost it hunting some lame-ass orcs. such was life in britania
I will never, ever get over the fact i missed out on UO. Never.

My best game experience was when I finished my first speed run on Super Mario. The knowledge that I can beat an entire game without releasing the "run" button made me cream my pants.

I broke my Gameboy in a fit of rage while playing Tetris. God, that was intense.

I was stoked, and never enjoyed regular slayer again, I'm all swat baby.

Another epic moment happened this morning, maybe an hour ago. I was looking for my phone charger, and under my bed was the GBA version of Donkey Kong! O, the waves of nostalgia!

- Defending the emperor of the entire freaking empire in Tie Fighter!

- Well orchestrated flag runs in Tribes 1&2 that ended with me barely surviving

- Unreal Tournament/Counterstrike LAN parties

- The main theme of Deus Ex and the menu staring you in the face saying, 'oh boy, you know what game you're gonna play now don't ya?'

- The ending of FFX. I feel embarassed about it, but my heart was touched when Tidus.. you know

- Your first few minutes after leaving the vault in fallout 3

- Playing Quake for the 1st time

- The disco credits in Ultima 9. Emotional, but not in a good way. It was more like.. over a decade of Ultima and this is how it ends???!! GOD DAMN EVERYTHING!

- Beating Eidolon in Hexen 2

- Shooting the limbs off people in Soldier of Fortune, and then blasting their intestines out with a magnum or shotgun round. Also that satisfying hiss you'd hear when firing the phosphorus rounds

- That bit in the canyons in half life

- Splitscreen goldeneye

- My 1st time seeing a summoning animation in a FF game, I believe it was leviathan in FF8

- The original Unreal on a 3dfx card running at 60fps in full graphics settings.

- Playing as a Marine in AVP. That shit was scary. (AVP from back in the day, not that new piece of shit they released)

- When the duke nukem forever E3 trailer was released in 2002. I was like OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOGMOG MO!!!!

- The extreme eye rollage that took place when the dev team of duke forever ran out of money and the george guy who owns the IP refused to sell and is now squirreling away in a hole, thus destroying any chance of the game I always thought would be awesome actually happening.

- That whole shagohod/motorbike chase at the end of MGS3, exhilerating as it was amazing that it was running on the ps2.

- beating off all over a centrefold of a model dressed up as Lara Croft when I was a lad.

- the mine cart level in Donkey kong country

- the first 15 minutes of Ultima 8

- the seemingly neverending and breathtakingly gorgeous scenes in Uncharted 2. No game looks as good as that game.

- Realising how freaking tremendous WoW was for the 1st time

- Finding the BFG in Quake 2 MP and killing whole rooms full of people

- The opening cutscene of MGS2

- The final boss fight of MGS4

- Killing Anna Navare in Deus Ex

- Every single moment of playing Deus Ex

- Getting to the final levels of Deus ex on two seperate occasions before having my computer's hard drive completely fail. I have never beaten Deus Ex. I have played 90% of the game 3 times. It's fucked up. Every time I get close, either the hard drive fails - totally fails, no data, everything lost, twice - or I leave the country. FUCKED!

- Looking forward to Deus Ex 3 kicking total ass.

Speculative:

-killing myself once it comes out and is worse than the 2nd.

Sadly, my best video game moments were in WoW many years ago.

Our server regularly had pvp teams running BGs, and I was on the top one horde side team. Whenever we faced the allies top team our games were always epic battles and deeply satisfying. Masterful skill and coordination on both sides led to unique games and giving each other fun challenges. We'd win most of the time, but all of us always hop onto each other's ventrilo for post game conversations/strategies/congratulations.
