Still $400 here brah. (admittedly not that far off, but still...) I wonder if the sony decided to make them backwards compatible in Europe this time around, with the Slim version.
Sony Playstation 3 120GB Slim Console (PlayStation 3) - free UK delivery at Gamestation.co.uk

on a side note what a great corrupted business model sony is using with their systems. make the first generation big fat and ugly so you can sell the same loser a slim version to make him feel cool. hats off to you, satan...i mean sony...

Sony loves to release shit, then release smaller versions of it's shit a few years later. See; PS2/PSP/PS3/Sony's stock index rating....

Love the macs for Web/Graphic/Video. Yet, I'm a web designer with a PC. Reasons:
1) Grew up with PC 2) Love the GUI vs. Mac's 3) Know how to fix Windows (thus, it doesn't break on me anymore either) 4) Love wide variety of software selections 5) Love being able to buy any part I want, not just 'Apple Approved"

it's 2009, I thought everyone had one of each by now.
Macs are more expensive, as you already know, but you get what you pay for. I've dropped my macbook, cracked the screen, broke the keyboard and had a couple internal issues... and Apple has covered all repairs 100% and they mail it back to your house for free. Con - can't play every video game. but who gives a shit, its a computer not an xbox.

Also, anyone who does not back their systems up, no matter what the OS, are idiots. I always back up my photos, music, and movies as well as other stuff that I do not want to lose. Most people now-a-days have a couple of external hard drives where they back there info to just in case. I have two HDs I back up wirelessly with TimeMachine You don't even have to think about, it's automatic.

1) Grew up with PC
Understandable - most people have and that is where the bias begins as they have little to know experience with other platforms. 2) Love the GUI vs. Mac's I don't get this one unless you never use Macs or use PCs 90% like my wife. If this is the case, you expect things to be more complicated than they are b/c that is what most experience with their Windows boxes. My wife for example I think feels this way (I had to show her how to set-up a new photo printer - Apple menu/System prefs/Printers (really uncomplicated but she's used to the PC way). I'm on a PC at work and make the choice to use a Mac at home b/c I have no issues and the GUI is like my right hand. 3) Know how to fix Windows (thus, it doesn't break on me anymore either). That's great for people who like to tinkle with their PCs. I prefer to use my Macs which never seems to need to be "fixed". I'm not saying things never go wrong, but then again, things go wrong with everything no matter how high end, just not nearly as often. 4) Love wide variety of software selections Tons of selection = tons of shit too. Also you could always boot into Windows to run any app you want at full speed under Windows if you REALLY need to. 5) Love being able to buy any part I want, not just 'Apple Approved" You obviously have not been made aware that Apple runs under Intel now? You do not need to buy Apple approved parts. Did I miss anything?

Yes, the only diff is you may need to reformat a hard drive which is done EASILY with Disk Utility (which is in Applications/Utilities). It's an Intel machine that is designed to boot into OS X, RedHat, Windows, whatever. What parts would be different besides the quality of the design?
