Avatar.
Overall yea the movie delivered something new. In places I felt like everything was still in preproduction blue screen. In other places the emotions of the avatars melted right into you. well worth the $12.00 probably twice. |

I feel the same way, I'm not a fan of war movies in general as they usually leave you with underdeveloped characters that you couldn't careless when they die...The Hurt Locker however made me care...I agree 9/10, in the top 10 of the year for sure...

Yeah I think it belongs more to the anti-war genre, I hate war movies too since being a war refugee myself, but the way they shot the movie got me glued to the screen straight from the first scene, like a fictional documentary sort of way, awesome. The Trailer Park Boys revolutionized this concept for comedy me thinks.

Yup, cloverfield used it almost to a gimmicky level....
District 9, laid the template for when to use it, when not too, with stellar results... Hurt Locker, perfected it... /lolololol... so you don't have waste your time ex...

Ma Cox: I'm just so glad you learned to play the guitar so good... even without having a sense of smell!
Dewey Cox: It's okay mama, I learned how to play by ear. Sam: Get out of here, Dewey. You don't want no part of this shit. Dewey Cox: Whatch y'all doin' in here? Sam: We doin' pills. Uppers and downers. It's the logical next step for you. Dewey Cox: I want some of that shit!

The Hurt Locker.
9 out of 10 IED's, because the reality of the movie was like an emotional vacuum that left me worn out. I loved it. If you can't imagine what it's like to see a human body blow up and don't want to actually see it happen, watch this movie. There is also a very disturbing scene when the team discovers an IED that hasn't been completed, and the case for the bomb may really fuck with you. ***I should note that it was recommended that I watch the film when I wasn't in a 'negative' mood, and I would pass that recommendation on with the review. It is an unadulterated look at the violence of the bomb diffusing unit, and though it may fictional, speaks of reality.*** Last edited by HTAM; 01-25-2010 at 08:41 PM. |

Oldest new movie: plant terror/ deathproof.10 out of 10. Great amounts of blood and tits. Newest new movie: gamer.8 out of 10. Good blood and action scenes, crappy storyline.
