but anyway, my buddy reccommended it to me even though he knows how much i hate star trek, just because it's a pretty dope movie period. like, i found it better going into it as just a movie rather than a star trek movie. if you go in like that, it's just a dope movie with space ships like independence day and shit.

Bug: I'm still not sure if it was supposed to be real or if they were schizos and a few characters were their imagination, but I give it a 8/10 for originality and likable characters.

last movie i saw was drag me to hell. good in a ridiculously cheesy way, and the often hammy acting of that girl had a charm to it. 8.5/10

It actually wasn't a very good movie. I lower the ranking to 6.

IMO Transformers 2 was pretty damn lame. It was an awesome movie experience in terms of visuals and audio, but the story was pretty meh. I just couldn't stop thinking about how much money they probably spent on CGI for the ebonics talking robots. Perhaps more money was thrown at those stupid scenes than i will make in a years work, i dunno!
I just watched highlander for the first time yesterday and it was pretty cool. Generally old movies that try to reach that far end up laughable in modern times based on the cheesy special effects. This one wasn't too overwhelming in that regard and managed to keep me interested throughout the film. Plus it had sean connery which is awesome! I can only assume this was probably a pretty epic movie when it was fresh. 7.5/10

1st transformers was awesome, 2nd sucked ass. third should be dope.
totally ruined osirus in the 2nd one.. and the racial humour, particularly the 'mudflap' character/comments did not impress myself or the cuban-jamaican woman i was with at the time.

Michael Bay is a fucking racist I am sure of it. Transformers is pretty much a horrible bloated spectacle of american indoctrination.
But yeah it's aight to watch.

Extract (by Mike Judge) 9/10
hilarious and smart. great performances from all the actors and great casting. they could have given a funnier role to Wiig. I think she is a very talented comedian. one of the smartest comedies of the year i couldnt expect anything less from M Judge |

I've gotta agree. I dug the movie enough and dig Judge's work and style but the movie wasn't that impressive at all. Worth a watch on DVD or TV but not necessarily worth the $30 I spent to see it in theaters. I've seen a handful of better comedies this year.

that wasn't a bad movie, save for one HUGE thing that pissed me off: the zinger on anal. Jeez why you gotta be hating on anal? And what the hell does that have to do with anything?

7.5/10 A pleasant surprise, ripe with symbolism and an all around good flick. And yes, the first 20 minutes achieves what took The Notebook 2 hours. Very heartfelt!
