Limitless, i gave it a 9/10 also as most films these days seem to be the same old stuff but this i thought was totally different to what i have seen before
If anybody knows any good history films, i would be grateful,. Doesn't have to be true just like films like Braveheart, The Eagle and another i enjoyed the other day was Ironclad

I watched 'Drive' the other night on PPV. I could barely stay awake for the flick. I tell ya 1 thing, the main star (can't recall his name) didn't have too many lines to remember.
I have 2 more 'comped' PPV movies on DISH Network...I'll have to see what's on their list.

Apocalypse Now Redux - 9/10

I'm not sure how the Redux version differs from the theatrical release, but I felt that by the time the last act of the movie came around when we finally meet Kurtz, the message of the movie had already been well impressed into my mind, and the whole bit with Kurtz almost felt like this sort of temperate and numb reflectiveness. Like the movie wounded you with the horror of war, and continued to rub salt in that wound throughout the movie, so that by the time we finally meet Kurtz our mood is almost the same as his, numbed by the horror, and just like the protagonist explains, feeling like we just want someone to end it all. So the protagonist ends Kurtz, and thus ends the movie.

It's like, the protagonist carries us with him, like one of the men on the boat, he takes us on this journey and as we travel with him we are slowly transformed, and finally brought to understand through what we are seeing, a glimpse of mystery of the man at the end of the journey. And though we know we can't truly know what it is to be that man, because we have not truly experienced the horror, we begin to feel it in ourselves. The horror.

Watched 3 films at the cinema the past week

first I watched Ghostrider 2 in 3D - this was pretty shitty with a really loose storyline, you can tell they just wanted to make some quick cash from the Marvel brand. - 3/10

Chronicle - This was pretty good filmed in a unique way lots of cool effects and very original. definatly recommended as a good watch for if you're bored one night 8/10

Jack & Jill - Adam Sandler plays as both a girl and boy twins pretty funny typical Adam Sandler film no where as good as some of his others but not terrible.. 5/10

i seriously can't believe Ghostrider got a sequel. I seriously can't believe you are going to see it SirX.

but yeah:

The Grey - I liked it - 7.1/10.
The Hunter - Was quite good/entertaining. Anything with Willem is awesome. 8.2/10

All that reminded me of was Half Baked, "You ever looked at 20 dollar bill man? Have you ever looked at a 20 dollar bill on weed?"

Dogtown and the Z-Boys (documentary) - 9/10, excellent documentary

A Scanner Darkly 9/10
I was really digging the animation style. Totally reminded me of the GTA game cover art. Also the whole scene where they can't figure out the probably stolen bike one of them bought is an 18 speed. The paranoia they had was really cool to watch.

Quick synopsis. People really messed up on mysterious drug. The lifestyle and madness these people live in. With of course a police informant thrown in the mix.

Anyone know anything about this movie there is a pretty big list at the end dedicated to people dead or permanently messed up from drugs. I'm curious is that list is real or just put there for dramatic effect.

Stopped being lazy and googled it. The list is from the author of the novel this was adapted to film in 06. It is real!!! Poor guy he had a lot of friends die from drugs
