Netbooks?

So I recently broke down and bought one. I travel so often and take so many classes that hauling around my 17" laptop with books is a pain in the ass.
I picked up the Sony VAIO one...
Amazon.com: Sony VAIO VPC-W211AX/T 10-Inch Brown Netbook - Up to 8 Hours of Battery Life: Electronics

All I use it for is school and random web surfing. I'd like to upgrade the memory but I don't know if thats even possible. But it gets the job done and it fits in my gym bag.

Any1 else have one or thinking about buying one?

Asus Eee PC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
is what I got. Very good.

You can't upgrade netbooks, iirc. They're built pretty solid so it's all combined.

Seriously, if I wanted to I could just throw the next gay guy I come across right up against a wall and give him an anal assault and he wouldn't complain one bit.

Yes... I have Windows 7. They aren't your every day normal thing. I guess they are better used for school/traveling application. Taking notes.. maybe listening to music, watching a movie.. stuff along those lines

he was making fun of you, not asking a serious question.

for some people net books are suitable but for me I would never be able to live with one. I had a $600 dell laptop a couple years ago, it was way better than any net book you could get for $600 at the time.

I have the same comp Bearsy, aside from that pretty much everything said is true, only good for their light weight, long battery life, and hooking you up to the internet/movies/music/office applications. Had mine a little over a year now and i can say that if you're looking for much more than what's said here (running lots of windows/using lots of RAM/playing games newer than appx. 2003) you're gonna be disappointed

I doubt I'd ever get one. I actually need the power of my laptop.

lulz i have literally have had about 20 windows/tabs open for past 5 days and i get no lag. the only thing you cant do is watch full screen HD video, other than that its fine for everything except gaming. my favorite part is that it has ultra efficient sleep mode, i have been working on a paper for the past 5 days, i just close the screen, leave, come back hours later open the screen and all my work and links are still open.
