Don't you remember when movies wouldn't be made on VHS for at least 6 months after it came out in the cinema?

Like it said in the article, regarding the 3d copy, they are waiting until more consumers have 3D TV's. Same reason you don't see a lot of the big movies(Indiana jones, starwars etc) having bluray release dates yet. They will wait until a decent percent of the consumers have bluray players so more people will buy them at $25-40 a piece. If they release them now and say only 30% of the consumers have bluray players, they are limiting their profit. When the rest of the population catches up on bluray they would likely be in the $10 bin.
It's a shame though, because releases of classic movies could help push the format. My biggest want is blu ray audio collections with 96khz(or greater) 24bit multi channel music. So far i only know of Neil Youngs bluray collection, and very soon Tom Petty will have one out. We need more artists/studios promoting blu ray audio.
