Verizon FIOS or Cablevision???

high all,

Anyone have experience with FIOS?? I'm closing on my house tommorow and want to get TV + Internet + Phone setup ASAP. Unless cable technology has somehow changed, I know for sure FIOS fiber optic must be faster.

Wondering if anyone here has used both or can speak to what service they do have... how was the internet/TV? For the price was it worth it??? What about customer service????

gimme the 411 negroes

fios is amazing.

the ONLY downside is that if you need a service guy to come out and fix your shit because it's fucked up, verizon customer service sucks. other than that it beats regular cable hands down.

also: do you have a cell phone? land lines are obsolete, man. just go with tv + internet.

FiOS.

$89 a month this year, $109 a month next year and Charter can go pound sand in their fucking assholes. I really don't care if Verizon has marginal tech service, I can fix a lot of shit myself since after the wall box it's all coaxial cable anyway. You get an amazing amount of public access channels too if you're bored and easily amused and the Widget Bazaar which is kind of stupid but hey, you're looking to alleviate the blahs by sitting in front of the tube anyway right?

Internet is way better than DSL and on par with cable, certainly fucking wonderful if you're going to be doing average net type shit. As far as the phone goes, it wasn't much cheaper if I didn't get it and it's pretty much unlimited in so far as I only really use it when I'm calling for pizza or when my cell is too far away. Besides, it's always good to have another number with caller ID you can give to folks if the need arises.

I told the guy at Charter when he tried to tell me that I'll be back when I don't like the FiOS that I would rather sit and stare at a blank fucking wall then shell out another cent for their shit customer service.

I've had FiOS for 3 years now. Love it/rock solid.

I've been stealing internet for a week now , and I must say it's very cost effective.
