Rate the last video game you played
Seeing as how there's a one for movies, makes sense there'd be one for games too. I gotta run so I cant start it off, someone else get this ball rolling.

BioShock 2
A I give this game a solid A, it held my interest just as much as the first one, they did what any good sequel to a great game should do and didnt try to fix what wasnt broke, they expanded the original gameplay enough to keep it captivating and they put enough new stuff in to keep it engaging. the story is probably the lowest point but even that is miles above your average game's story. play it.

hmm I forgot it was easter monday. walked to school for nothing I guess. ah well:
Battlefield Bad Company 2: 8.73/10 (my rating for the multiplayer component anyways, single player is a bit of a write off) - destructible environments, heavy weaponry, a variety of classes and unlockables, what's not to love (except the god damn lag!)

9.5/10
god of war 3.... -.5 for being short, I am bad at gaming and finished normal in 12 total hrs of gameplay...Boss battles were some of the best in gaming, the sense of scale is the best since shadow of the colossus, and the new weapons are both fun and devastating...Well worth the wait...

Dragon Age (pc version) - 8.5/10
I really loved the armour in this game, it just looked so damn cool. The combat was challenging and the characters were very well realised. My only qualms are that it felt repetitive at times and my party's inventory would constantly be filling up, forcing me to either forego some of the loot or travel all the way back to a tradesman. Otherwise, it's a great game. I've come to accept that Bioware will probably never hit the pinnacle they did with Baldur's Gate 2 ever again, but this sure has been a fun romp.

Final Fantasy 13 - 9/10
A supremely enjoyable battle system wrapped up in spectacularly beautiful environments and monster design, stylish interface, and a story resembling so much the many crystaline structures seen in the game: multi-faceted, sparkly, and transparent. If this game had towns and a grittier story line, it would easily be a 10/10.

whaaaat?
I'd give FF13 a 4/10 + points for a compelling story and pretty graphics - a lot of point for repetitive gameplay and extreme linearity Spam X for 60 hours, occasionally pressing L1 to change paradigms. I never even used the gesalts except for bosses. I ended up running by a lot of mobs cause it was so damn boring to fight them all. I made it to chapter 9 before losing interest completely. I just wanted to skip to the next cutscene. Last edited by ionlylooklazy; 05-17-2010 at 12:00 AM. |

8/10 3D dot game heroes... Oh nostaligia how i love thee...
Great bday gift, awesome throwback play, genius parody, and a really deep create-a-character mode...There is plenty to do, love the mini games, etc...If you like the old rpg's before they became button mashing, essays and cut scenes...Many will hate, but plenty will love...

It's true that the first 25 hours of the game are gimped. But once you finally leave cocoon and go to pulse, the game gets way more enjoyable. It practically becomes a different game, one that's actually really good. Why the people who made the game decided to do it this way I have no idea. But I played it for 75 hours before I finally beat it, and nearly 50 of those were spent in pulse, riding my chocobo across vast, open fields, hunting down various creatures that for the most were actually quite challenging to slaughter. Their loot was delicious. My sword got sharper. My guns, bigger. And my wands, more magicky. I explored the great canyons of pulse, awestruck by creatures 100 times taller than myself. Some creatures, massive in size and multiple in numbers, requred a plethora of attempts and variations on strategy before I finally led my incredibly detailed and well animated party to victory, scoring 5 stars and a rare drop, MAKE MY PENDANT BIGGA BACK UP ON THE NIGGA

Ive been playing aliens v predator 8/10 (if you can't figure it out you just suck, great fast paced game play, controls are easy as hell)
mag and cod both get 8/10's as well, though the fact that all FPS are designed like this games fucking suck. So sick of this format. i just want to be able to carry all the guns I pick up, not one or two. thats what made games like goldeneye, timesplitters, resistance: fom1 hits... |

Of more recent shooters sublime, I'm sure you'd enjoy Bioshock 1 or 2. Both of those games do FPS games a service, going back to the classic roots where a wicked arsenal and an intense single player were the most important things.
I need to add my score for another game I've been playing: Tribes 2 - 10/10 I played this game and its predecessor to death back in the day. It is the most challenging and in depth online FPS ever made.. ever. The learning curve is a mile high and the techniques I've seen some players use are just insane. I love this game. I'm so glad I started playing it again. There are always a couple servers with a bunch of people playing CTF. You can get it for FREE at TribesNext | Tribes 2 Online Multiplayer Download the game/patch and you are good to go.

Battlefield Heroes
I give it a B+ but only because it's free. If I had to pay I'd rate a lot lower, but it is addicting.

Halo: Reach beta - 8.5/10. Nice new guns, took away dual-wielding, pretty decent new game modes, lots of armor unlockables, added armor abilities (jetpacks, sprint, shield, roll, etc.) I'm iffy about, especially the damn jetpacks. Above all though, fun.
I dumped many an hour into Tribes as well haha, epic multiplayer, dl'ing now.

2nd on psychonauts...
I had a copy that I lost through lending. So when our video store stopped selling x-box games, I cherry picked the whole lot...Got everything that I even remotely wanted to play for the low cost of 2 bucks a piece...
