Video Games - Role playing games

I <3 RPGs. It is a beauteous thing to dive into a world of fabrication. To take up arms against the forces of evil. To summon an imp to do your bidding. Or to acquire a sword long thought to be lost.

Here's a list of all the RPGs that I've played.

Final Fantasy Tactics - PSX 5/5
Final Fantasy V - PSX 4/5
Final Fantasy VII - PSX 5/5
Final Fantasy VIII - PSX 4/5
Final Fantasy IX - PSX 4/5
Final Fantasy X - PSX 3/5
Final Fantasy XI - PSX 2/5
Grandia - PSX - epic
Everquest - PC <3, spent way too much time with this game. But, I did sell my character at the end of my EQing.
Shadowbane - PC This is another MMO, 'twas fun for awhile. Great pvp system.
Neverwinter nights - PC
Baldur's Gate - PC
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance - PS2
Diablo - PC
Lunar Silver Star Story -PSX
Chrono Trigger - SNES
Chrono Cross - PSX
Secret of Mana - SNES
Legend of Mana - PSX
Wild Arms - PSX
Breath of Fire III - PSX
ALUNDRA - PSX - <3 Fucking awesome action adventure platformish rpg
Zelda Link to the Past - SNES
Zelda Link's Awakening - GB
Zelda Ocarina of Time - N64 -Classic
Zelda Majora's Mask - N64 -Dissapointing
Vagrant Story - PSX - pretty cool action adventure rpg with a kickass battle system
Star Ocean: The Second Story - PSX
Legend of Dragoon PSX - Pretty interesting time based combo battle system
Tales of Destiny - PSX
Fable - Xbox
Fable II - 360
Kingdom Hearts - PS2

That might be it.

lol wasn't that the one published by sony? never got interested in it (i.e. thought it sucked). i did want to play wild arms though. something else must have been more important

i've played and replayed rpg's all my life, and along that course put literally HUNDREDS of hours into each of the following:

ff6
chrono trigger
final fantasy tactics
diablo 1 & 2
ultima online

my first rpg was final fantasy. i was around 6 years old and would always have to watch my brother play because the game only had one save slot (which you were lucky to have for the time). one time while he was gone i erased his game and he was so happy that he didn't even care to play the game anymore

i was hooked from then. dragon warrior, zelda, ultima, dungeon magic, crystalis, destiny of an emperor. then the snes really opened up the genre with some amazing titles. i missed a few but played the shit out of breath of fire, both final fantasies, 7th saga, secret of mana, evo, a link to the past. damn that was a good system.

i kept playing rpgs on playstation but i don't remember finishing too many. in fact i only ended up finishing ff7, chrono cross and parasite eve (only took a couple days). star ocean was amazing and i played it a good 20 hours, awesome battle system. legend of mana seemed kinda bland. the other final fantasies were ridic. i played demos of saga frontier and xenogears, both of which seemed promising but i never got around to obtaining them. shit and i just remembered brave fencer musashi! that game was sweet

anyway, once i got diablo on pc that was pretty much it. i had played some of the point and click d&d games in the past but diablo completely absorbed me. that shit was amazing. oh and let's not forget pokemon! the pacing of that game was just great

for a long time after uo, i never touched an rpg (online or otherwise). then i picked up the dark spire on ds (a stylish modern take on the old school dungeon crawler) and crisis core on psp (a prequel to ff7). i tried aion out for a while and it's probably an alright game i just haven't the time for an mmo lately.

13 is the first final fantasy i'm giving a chance since 9, and while i'm enjoying it so far calling it an rpg is a stretch. it's really just a sparsely (and at times entirely needlessly) interactive movie with some battles and an upgrade screen, but i think the battle system is really cool. it just seems like rpg developers have lost their focus. a quirky artistic direction is welcomed, but aim production at having MY actions unfold the plot rather than just watching it happen. it's always been my gripe that now that games can show/do more, they show too much while making the game do less.

and oh yeah, just remembered morrowind and oblivion

Wow, so many good games. I am an RPG fan myself. Didn't realize so many people had played final fintasy tactics. One of my favorites.

Right now I am playing Dungeons and Dragons online. Someone made a thread about it back in the fall and I have been playing since. Kinda disappointing tho, I think I am the only one who posted in that thread that continued to play.

If anyone wants to play DDO with me, its totally free MMO, I am on Sarlona and can help set you up with items and cash and info. Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited Sign Up Now!

Its all instanced, but for a free game it is super fun and well made. Its so easy to find groups to play with and the people are generally so helpful and the game really fair, no fighting over loot etc.

Hells yeah, I forgot all about Saga Frontier. I gotta say my favorite console was the PSX. Solely for the reason of all the rpgs developed for the system.

It came out like a month or two before FF7, most people had something more important to play :P

thats why the series never got big imo, i mean it still got pretty big and spawned a bunch of sequels (and even a remake of the original) but the first one was completely overshadowed.

anyway pm me if you want to experience the game, i got the links to get you up and running if you have the spare time :P
