Anyone up for some free EQ?

EQEmulator

My bro downloaded the EQ client from demenoid last night and got up and running on this server in no time. It looks pretty cool from what Ive seen so far, and in Gfay there were like 50 people leveling alongside where he was. I think even CB has some groups going like old times.

If anyone is interested I'll get the link to the client download from him later on and post it. Im gonna give it a shot since im sick right now and bored and couped up.

so i dont really know all that much about eq. i know you have levels not how you gain. like. . . can you set up macro loops to level afk? is it all about end-game pvp and/or questing, or is there a genuinely enjoyable progression in gameplay as you level? i never watched my brother play, too busy with uo

not sure with EQemu, im not familiar with the servers or how far the general population has progressed. in the original game it was a great mixture of both. there were always tons of people leveling, which took a long ass time, and there were always uber guilds doing runs on the top spawns. from what ive seen so far it looks to be similar with eqemu, the zone i was talking about earlier Gfay is the starter wood elf zone and there were 50 people leveling in there alone. Back in the day it took me a good year-year and a half of playing just to get my first toon to level 29/60!

most of the people i know that were hooked on eq werent 'nerds' at all. and thats been true for all MMOs i play. it was an amazing community and the level of interaction cant be found in any other platform.

Agreed about nerdiness, that word has become so meaningless that it hardly means anything any more. How can someone be a nerd when the whole generation of jocks/meatheads (in my experience anyway) are enjoying the same shit "nerds" do.
