Netflix subscribers?

Netflix sure sounds good on paper. DVD's in the mail, lots of streaming movies & TV online. Totally casual. But after about 9 months of service I am not feeling like I got my moneys worth. I have the $9.99 per month package which gets me 2 DVD's in the mail and full internet access.

I find that the Blockbuster ad's were right when they said "Are you really going to know what you want to watch 3/4 days in advance?". The answer is no, Blockbuster. You were right! I would much rather go to the video store when I'm in the mood and rent the DVD's that I want then and there.

Not that I don't occasionally get it right on Netflix. But more often than not I feel like I'm forcing myself to watch movies that I'm not in the mood for. And as far as the streaming movies, well, I only have a netbook (no xbox to stream it to my TV) so that's not all that comfortable to do on a regular basis. Their selection is decent though.

Oh and one more problem I find is that most of the time I am too lazy to walk across the street to drop the DVD's back in the mail box. So I might end up hanging on to two crappy discs for a week or two and totally blowing my moneys worth.

All in all I give the whole system a 6/10.

Sounds like you do not have the infrastructure or desire in place to experience it at it's highest levels, meaning that you cannot blame your lack of satisfaction on the service...I have been a subscriber for 2 years and have loved it...If I absolutely need something I will pick it up at the store but other than that the 5 disc has been nothing short of awesome, 3 show discs and 2 movies, plus streaming on my ps3 and wii make it nothing short of worthwhile...

yeah, love netflix. it never takes more than 2 days to get the videos i want, always have a queue full...also stream to the tv through the wii. customer service is awesome if i need it. sure beats putting up with douches at blockbuster, or them being out of whatever i want, or their late/restocking fees...there's actually a much bigger selection through netflix too. yeah, netflix ftw.

I have a piece of shit xbox360 and you need to pay for the gold xbox live subscription in order to stream netflix through it. The way I see it, I bought the fucking xbox, I pay for netflix and my internet just let me fucking stream this shit through my xbox. But that's more of xbox's bullshit. Netflix itself rocks.

Netflix is the greatest media value ever, period.

about 30 bucks for 5 dvds, PLUS the online movie streaming???? Amazing!!!

Blockbuster totally took advantage of me as a customer and for that they lost me.

i have the 2dvd, i think its the cheapest plan for unlimited online streaming? 12.99 + 1.00 (for bluray rentals) =13.99 . i think ive watched most of the worthy movies available for instant, its library is rather lacking.but still I had to order a 2nd netflix disc for my ps3, the first one failed on me

I love Nexflix.

I can rent all the "wierd" movies I read about, but are hard to find anywhere else, like "Por la libre" or "Nicotina".

I also can watch an entire HBO or Shotime miniseries such as Rome or Weeds in one sitting.

Me and my GF bought an xbox360 a couple of months ago and have been contemplating Netflix. No cable, no satelite, but we already have a Live gold subscription. What we were wondering was how big the TV library is (since that is our main interest) and how ofter is really gets updated. Thanks guys (and gals)

^The library is huge. They have practically every DVD that is in circulation availible for mail delivery. The live streaming library is so/so; not a great selection.
