Actually, Rodriguez isn't directing but produces based on a script or scripts he wrote after seeing the original.

I want to see it. It may be pretty cool but it will have nothing on the original. I am just happy they aren't trying to remake the original which is still one of my favorite movies.

im thinking both this and the mortal kombat movie (if thats even going to be made) will be hit or miss. i have high hopes for both as they are both bad ass but id hate to see them ruined.

Early reports are saying it lifts a lot from the original film, but that horrid AVP memories can be put to rest, and it delivers.
