That is a nice piece of electronics. What color is yours? I would get it with a USB mouse set up and some mac speakers (for stationary use).

the trackpad is much more than efficient (until i get left 4 dead 2 or counter strike source or something like that, warhammer online it works fine for), and has some pretty cool gesture features.

all macbook pros are aluminum, same color.

It is a lot. But worth it. I got a Macbook a year and a half ago, and never l looked back.

Just like everything else though, it still comes down to what your needs are worth to you.

to some people its just not worth it. to me, it is. I will use it to its potential and It will last long enough to justify cost.

I disagree, I bought a $700 laptop in 2006 and never looked back, and its not a matter of what my needs are worth as long as they are met, unless of course your needs include helping apple pay for their extremely aggressive marketing campagins

No, unless you consider a laptop with Windows that you have to routinely reformat. As however nice Apple's computers are designed, what ignorant people do not realize it comes down to how awesome, yes awesome, OSX is. That is Apple's butter. Smarten up

My MBP is from 2006 as well and I bet it blows yours out of the water then and now. In fact, it is still totally holding it's own.

You made a GOOD investment. Most here do not view their computer as an investment.

your MBP probably does blow my lappy out of the water, but I also bought an $800 dollar desktop computer that I use for gaming, which probably blows your MBP out of the water in terms of rendering polygons

so for $500 less than the cost of a MBP I got two computers, one dedicated for gaming, and a laptop for lounging. and with the $500 I can make a REAL investment (lol @ computers are investments, i hope you retirement portfolio isn't comprised of 50 macbooks)

I feel like this is harks back to the Chevy vs Ford vs Dodge debates.

'When you finally realize the error of your ways you'll buy a _____.

Ford-First On Race Day

Ford-Fucked Over Recalled Dodge

Ford-Fucker Only Runs Downhill

Chevorlet: Crappy Hot-Running Engines, Very Rusted Out, Lose Every Time

Chevrolet: Car Has Extensive Valve Rattle On Long Extended Trips.

Dodge: Drips Oil, Drops Grease, Everywhere

Mopar: Mostly Old Paint And Rust

Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page could have the same argument about Strats and Gibson Les Pauls.

But, I bet they don't.

Well I guess you religiously maintain your PC. I don't have to maintain anything nor worry about what web sites I visit. My web browser even has spell checker as spell checker is integrated across all apps. Imagine that - woopee!

I do not have a virus program and have Windows and never have any problems with viruses, spyware, etc. Maybe 5-10 years ago it was a problem if you did not know what you were doing but now like I said no problems unless you go to sum boot legged porn site and then go figure...

I think true gamers/computer enthusiasts do not buy Macs, plain and simple. I could built a bad azz machine for the amount of money you guys pay for a Mac. I'm talking quad core, dual-video cards and even 3-d monitor and still have a couple hundred for a sac. Even if you can not build your own, you could drop 2gs at best buy and get a nice azz computer.

I'm starting to think it's like the South Park episode when peepz got a hybrid car. They would fart and think it smelt like roses.
