I'm pretty excited about this coming out, too. I was a big fan of the original, which came out when the economy was booming and being a big Wall Street success was tantamount to stardom. It should be interesting, the contrast, with this one. Plus, how can you not LOVE Gordon "Greed is Good" Gekko? That guy has got to be one of the best hollywood bad guys of all time.

20 century fox financing a movie about wall street, somehow it just seems wrong, but I'll watch it just cause I like the subject.

ive come to the conclusion that if a behind the scenes/making of... thing about a movie is aired on the fox movie channel, that the movie will suck scrote. every behind the/making of... about a movie that ive seen on the fox movie channel, that same movie always turned out pretty terrible.
i watched the making of wall street 2 on the fox movie channel. with that said, oliver stone is directing it, so hopefully he can pull it off.

I saw it last night with my wife, and the movie was fucking badass! There were alot of the same trademark montages and such as the first, but new and improved. The camerawork, especially shots of the city, are stunning. As for the characters, there were a few great twists and turns. The commercials are a little misleading, as Gordon and Shia are not locked in combat throughout the movie. Gordon's role is a bit more subtle in this story.
It starts during the summer of 2008, so you have the build up to the crash in Sept-Oct as the backdrop of the story, so you know what's coming there. How the different people in different positions deal with it tho is really cool, with the retard optimism and the back room dealings with the Fed, etc. The ending is not as strong as I would have liked, but overall, it's still a two bongs up movie in my book. I will be buying the DVD when it comes out. ![]() The Rev |
