Boardwalk Empire

HBO: Boardwalk Empire: Homepage

Anybody else watched the premiere?
I've been looking forward to it for a while

It's nice to see HBO premiere a cool show at the same time for Canada and the US. I hated seeing commercials for HBO shit on tv sometimes or the internet and HBO Canada didn't get it for a while later.

But anyway I really digged the first episode.

Steve Buscemi has always been good in most things he's done.

I like how it's set back in the twenties too, the Prohibition was probably one of the first main streak peddling schemes back in the day!

anyway great show, there's one guy in it too from the Sopranos with the glass eye (he's from NY in the Sopranos and this show get that huh).

they got one of the soprano's writers writing for the show too

Seriously, if I wanted to I could just throw the next gay guy I come across right up against a wall and give him an anal assault and he wouldn't complain one bit.

I watched it, and I recommend it.

I felt like the first episode was a whirlwind of information at times, but characters have to be introduced. It's built on history and people that are common knowledge, so the series of events that are introduced are predictable to say the least.

It certainly was brutal in several scenes, and one particular scene was very disturbing because it reminded me of some sad history in my family. However, just because I felt like there was a personal connection is not why I liked the show.

I actually don't want to say much about why I liked the show because I don't want to reveal anything that might spoil it right now.

Watch it.

This show DOES look badass. I like the part where they introduce Al Capone. You just figure he's some guy, then, "BAM" it's the most notorious gangster in history (the early years).

word word, but she narced on him too got all their green beer spilt. Chalky (Omar!) is working on finding out who lynched his buddy. Al Capone apparently wasn't a very good roommate...
