Yah so, this game went Free to play, much like Dungeons and Dragons Online... except this game is better.

I'm addicted to it at the moment. There is so much to do, and it's all free. Yes, free.

Well except you gotta do all these deeds to unlock certain things you might expect and the deeds involve some grinding.

But it's freeeee I'm a hobbit! A HOBBIT I SAY@ !!

I was thinking about downloading this game and checking it out, it would at least give me something to do between vice admiral dailies in STO. Perhaps I shall check it out....

edit - I wonder if I can get all crazy and smoke some of that halfling leaf?

Do you just "Add New Program" in the Configure window?
cause that didn't work. It didn't even stay in the list of apps...

It's pretty cool. It's fun to play but doesn't seem too addicting. It satisfies my wow itch without me wanting to sit in for an 8 hour raid session, and it gives me something to do between my daily missions in STO, it'll also help kill time until SWTOR comes out.

It woiuld be nice if they let you have a couple more character slots though, I'd like to try out a couple more of the classes, right now I'm playing a hobbit hunter and an elven champion, but I'd eventually like to check out the caster classes. I'm looking for a good solo class, because I currently spend all of my time soloing..all the douchebags and pvpkiddies in wow kind of ruined grouping for me, I'm sure I'll get back to it eventually, but I'm enjoying the solo thing for now.

To those who play, what world do you play on? I'm on Darrowdelf.

Hunters suck, hobbit burglars are fun! Trying to type this blows because I'm on my brother in laws iPad, I need to get home and smoke some weed fast, good thin the in laws only live 5 minutes away!

I dunno how guilds or alliances or anything work in LOTRO but if someone wants to make one I'd join up. I've wanted to try this game for a while but soloing in mmorpg's is boring as anything.

I don't mind the soloing, I usually play later at night when the kids are in bed anyways, so there's not a whole lot of people online. I've never even been in a fellowship yet (I'm assuming that's a group) but it's all good, I don't mind soloing, it's not too bad as a burglar when you can sneak around.

Sir-ex- I'm coming up on level 16, been questing my ass off for deeds in the Shire, I'm just going to finish up a couple of loose ends there then it';s on to Bree!

I mean it's well constructed man don't get me wrong, but for me personally another sword n shield MMORPG is not what the genre needs atm. I don't feel LOTRO has added anything to the mix to make me start the grind again, but on the other hand it's FREE and well designed so if you're into it more power to ya.

+1 played it for about two weeks then /boredomquit MMOs are totally "whatever floats your boat" though, so I'm glad people find it compelling.

Same thing with STO. I was so psyched for it, then when it came out I just went "weeeeee!!! wait....sigh.../quit"
