The wisdom of TV shows

If you REALLY pay attention to TV shows I think there is some serious human wisdom to be had. The thing is that their lines come so fast that they often go in one ear and out the other. But do you ever realize the fact that it takes a loooong time for teams of people to collaberate on every word that comes out of those characters mouths? So? So if you can actually focus on what they say then you'll possibly realize that what they are actually saying are broad strokes of human wisdom that are the extraction of up-to-the-minute human knowledge.

Long story short. TV shows are showing you what you are not yet. True?

Unless it was a show about me starring me, then yeah I guess that's true. But just because lots of people spend lots of time putting a show together doesn't mean it's a masterpiece with a deep meaning. I think for every example (of which you gave none) of a show being a showcase of knowledge, there are 20 shit shows where the crew is just doing it for the paycheck.

If you look hard enough, you can find meaning in anything. Doesn't mean it was intended, just means you looked hard enough. Me, I watch TV for the mind numbing quality. I rarely watch TV though.
