PS3 lets you connect to their online network for free and the system has built-in wireless. It's also a blu ray player, which is quickly replacing the DVD technology the 360 is based on.

I like the xbox controller more, though. But the only thing the PS3 doesn't have is Halo, which is a beat franchise anyway.

id go for 360. it might not be as powerful as the ps3, but i think the games/ online service are pretty sweet. you can even get netflix and watch tv shows and movies that you put on your "playlist". ive always liked the microsoft games too

plus, the visualizer is cool

(i bet the ps3 has that too lol)

No games in particular, I like a lot of them...i think it's awesome the xbox has hands free movement for interactive games with the kinect...ps3 you still have to hold a remote.

I chose xbox 360, because I have owned an xbox (360) for like 7 years. Xbox has more games that I like (well mostly the Project Gotham Racing series), and all my friends have one, so its nice talking to them on xbox live seeing as Im 2 and half hours away from them. And being able to buy games through the marketplace is sick! I've bought 4 full games and like 30 arcade games :P and $12 original xbox games is cool too...I chose the original xbox because of Halo.

ps3 imo, because you dont have to pay to do stuff online, which is essential. once finished ps home will be legit too.

this, xbox's user base is largely pre-pubescent kids using parents credit card.

ps3 generally has an older less nubish customer base for online gaming.

Xbox, without a doubt. If you can't live without playing Metal Gear Solid, or Gran Turismo, get the PS3. If you're more of a casual gamer, get the Xbox. I own both and imo the Xbox is by far the best of the two, it's layout and general interface is about 100x better than the PS3, it's faster (PS3 requires you to wait an hour to install every game, and the loading times still suck). Playstation Network just sucks in general.

especially the interface, i fucking hated the xbox interface. too much stupid shit clogging up the main screen.

General rule for gaming consoles:

Playing with Kids/Friends? Wii.

Playing with Online Friends? Xbox.

Playing solo/movies? PS3.



I have a PS3 for its Blu-Ray, media streaming, and thanks to the latest firmware update, 3D capability for free.

Granted the Xbox can do the first two, but pound for pound if you're not concerned with gaming online there's no need to get an Xbox.

Plus I bought a 55" LED 3D TV on Black Friday, mostly because all the reviews/opinions I've been reading suggested that even if you never use the 3D aspect, they generally have better processing/picture quality than standard HDTVs.

So If i ever buy a 3D game or movie I can enjoy it without having to buy a separate player and/or another console.

Also, you can upgrade the hard drives relatively easily.


Plus Xbox still have horrendous device failure rates, a.k.a. the infamous Red Ring of Death.

Different strokes for different folks I guess, there's nothing on the PS3 interface that's so bad I can't live with it, I just prefer the Xbox.

Fwiw most consoles do the 3D thing now, a lot of newer games have Stereoscopic 3D as a selectable output, it's not limited to the PS3.

i think thats the best time to buy a console

actually i myself am going to wait even longer and get a ps3 in a few years when the prices have gone down

its just more economical

for example i got a ps2 like 5 years after they came out cuz i was able to buy it and a ton of games for really cheap

i have my pc for good graphics, so thats not an issue at all

xboxlive is a great service if u want to pay a little bit of money to play online, ps3 is still very capable of online play and is free. there i contributed.
