iPhone apps?

After 3 painful years my cellular contract came to and end so i was pretty stoked about getting a new phone, as I had come to hate my blackberry pearl and its cursed trackball. I opted for an iPhone 3Gs...I know the 4 is out there but i don't need the latest and greatest (I also couldn't find anywhere it wasn't already sold out). Anyways, I have my new iPhone and it's pretty sweet. I'm still learning it, as the last time I actually used a mac product was probably grade 6.

I was just wondering if there's any cool apps that any of you would recommend that I may not know about? (free would be preferable since I haven't jailbroke it yet) but it depends on how cool the app is, I'm not totally averse to paying.

And while I mentioned it, can anyone recommend a good tutorial for jailbreaking on the 4.2.1 firmware?

Two of my favorite game apps, Angry Birds and Cartoon Wars. Both highly simple and as addictive as crack. I think they're both .99 each.

Gravity Guy (fun platform game, only has one level but it's quite long)
Sporcle (check it out online first, great way to waste your time)
iBooks (duh)
Angry Birds (legit best game on the iPod)
Superfall (pretty fun game kinda difficult to the point of abandonment though)
NYZ (zombie first person shooter, mad fun)

Seriously, if I wanted to I could just throw the next gay guy I come across right up against a wall and give him an anal assault and he wouldn't complain one bit.
